please help - engine decision

Hey everyone, i've been looking for a new engine for a few weeks and have to pick between 3 within the next day.

They are all rebuilt, 2 with 3mm seals, 1 with 2mm seals.
All streetported, one is a little more aggressive than the others, fine with me.
The more aggressive one is a lot more money but i think may be worth it, its already balanced and comes with a lightweight flywheel.

The thing is I have a single turbo - greddy T78 and all supporting mods to hit at least 450whp. What do these engines need to be able to handle the power, all are fresh rebuilds, and streetported. there is much debate btwn 2mm and 3mm seals so i am not very concerned with that. but what else needs to be done? neither have ceramic apex seals, so that is not going to be taken into consideration. one of the engines has 1 new rotor housing, the rest are used.

2 were built by Atkins, 1 was built by pineapple racing - and is claimed to handle 600hp, why can this handle so much besides a more aggressive port.

I have to make the decision like tomorrow or i'll miss out on one of them, so sorry for the late notice but any help is appreciated.

they can all handle that. go with the one that you want really. ernieT was running atkins seals making close to 800whp for a long time. a stock engine can handle 500+

So as long as the engine was put together properly, and the used housings and rotors were in good condition, stock internals will be fine for 450whp at 16psi, with a good tune of course? Thats what i'm hoping for with the streetport. i can pick up the 2mm seal, atkins streetported engine for 1700 plus my old core. which seems like a killer deal. but the pinapple engine looks amazing but is about $1000 more.

Both companies do good rebuilds. With your T78 it may be in your best interest to get the more aggressive street port. But that depends on the difference b/t the porting in the street port and this more aggressive street port. That is generally in the eye of the person doing the porting... If it was me, I may save myself the $1000 and go with the atkins engine.

oh, and you should have NO problem making 450whp on 16psi and a good tune. At that boost and turbo you will probably easily make more than 450....

ok, i think i'll go with the atkins, im just waiting on proof that it was actually done by them. so stock bearings and rebuild kit will be fine? i find it strange that it has 2mm seals when i thought atkins always used 3mms

they dont always use 3mm seals, the only use them if requested or if the grooves in the rotors are dicked up, their 2mm seals are fine
