Pics of my m2 intake/single setup. Will this be enough air?
This is a SR stage 2 turbo with my customized m2 intake. My question is....will this be enough air flow for the turbo?

Heres anouther picture. The tubing has a inside diameter of 4". The place where a filter normaly sits on the turbo is roughly 4", as with the back of my customized m2 box.
Inside looking down the 4" tube. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=2136643 CJ |
Yeah, I know I'm missing one of the hex heads that hold the little plate onto the carbon fiber box. :)
Notice anything funny in the background? https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=2136741 CJ |
The last image was smaller than I realy wanted.
The filter I plan on running in the air box is a round tapered type. The base of the filter itself is 5". The length is 7" long. At the top (or end of the filter) its 4.5". I'm hoping this is enough air filter for the turbo. If not someone let me know. I was trying to post some more pictures, but the forum is having problems again. Let me know what you guys think. CJ |
i dont know why that wouldnt be enough air. but i do have one question for you. do you think the flex pipe will suck in or fall apart and possibly go into your turbo? i would make that a hard pipe. other than that i think it looks great.

This one too, is smaller than I would have liked to put up. But it seems that the forum is more willing to accept smaller pictures. |
That looks fantastic. I want to get some kind of box around my single's filter. Nice work. I am sure it will be enough air.
If you have doubts about the silver ducting, I have been using Santoprene TPR hose from mcmaster.com both with the stock turbos and now with my single for several years. It is cheap, flexible, available in lots of sizes, and is proven to hold up very well under the hood. -Max |
I've only had my m2 intake for all of 1,000 miles.....and hated the thought of spending $500 and have the thing sit on a shelf in my garage. Thats why I did this.
Thanks everyone, CJ |
I think the M2 box might be a little to restrictive for a single because all the air has to come through that little opening in the bottom, easily creating a vacume inside the box. What I did on my twins is put some spaces between the the box and the lid on the passenger side. This will let the box breath from the top in the higher RPM's, but only the air near the fender/ headlight area will enter the box. Hope this makes sense.

m2 built a car with the air box, it was pretty mild but its worked fine
