oil return flange

Ok so im swapping a rew into my fb I had to swap front covers so I dont have front drain port only rear. So I need a flange that bolts to the rear drain port that but has a "an" flange or anything that'll work thanks for the help!

Most people weld an AN fitting to the front cover, similar to what RX-Heven did (except he drill/tapped his) for his catch can vent setup.

I got a bolt on flange to AN. If I remember correctly I bought it from kinugawa turbo.

I don't remember offhand... I think it was 38mm bolt hole spacing with m6 bolt holes.

Just weld the fitting to the front cover. You want the drain as short and straight down as possible.

I appreciate the help everyone Id prefer welding in the flange to the front cover but I dont have access to a tig welder n everything is together and in the car im just doing the final odds an ends like this but im probably just gonna find a flange that'll work on the rear iron

Should work for the front
Maybe for the rear.

That flange is a little bulky. If it doesn't fit you can probably machine down the corners a bit. ATP turbo has one that is a little lower profile.

No worries let me know when you are ready.

Do you know if this is a -6 or -8 fitting? I would like to do this for my catch can in the future.

Vicoor 12-05-14 02:10 PM

It's at least a -8.
I think it might be a -10

bo0557 02-26-15 04:14 PM

you want -10an as a minimum!!

with out doing it properly and removing motor and sump / front cover.. if you could get away with removing sump whilst in car then you could drill the front cover and use a bulk head -10an fitting
