non-ETT borgwarner turbos

Well looking at the difference in price between the s475 you can either go for the non-ETT for $625 or the ETT for $1000.

Has anyone tested to see the difference or anyone on here ran a non ETT version of any of there turbos and can comment.

I understand the ETT will be better but would the increase be like the gtx verses normal garrett?

Thanks in advance

Lee

uhhh...I got my S475 ETT for $625 from forced inductions...

the $1000 one the S480 which has an enlarged 80mm inducer compressor wheel as opposed to the original 75mm, this has nothing to do with ETT which is the design of the exducer no the inducer.

Best regards,

Chris

The non-ett turbos are OK on smaller motors that will be running more boost to compensate for the lower airflow. You need to work them harder to get more from them.

Chris, did you buy yours quite awhile back? The budget turbos they have now for $625 are non-ett compressors.

No, I got it about a month ago...and it has the ETT, you can see it on the compressor wheel with the cover off, you can measure it too, I compared it to other measurements taken on the web of ETT blades and its exactly the same. You can tell that the top of the tips at the exducer extends quite considerably part the roots in the same place. Am I missing something?

I can tell you that mine looks and measures just like the wheel on the right in that picture above the turbo list. I didn't even know they sold non ETT as budget units and being that you could get an ETT for such a low price why go budget?

Maybe I got lucky?

Anybody else with input?

Chris
