new trans gear ratios for 08

the advent of the corvette ZL1 presents superior ratios for the Tremec T56 box that i plan for my FD. lots closer ratios. i assume that they probably can be swapped into the normal T56 that bolts up against a camaro etc...

the Tremec model is 6060 and the gearset is referred to as MH3.

first gear is 2.26 and 6th gear is .67 instead of .5. other ratios were not given but i would assume they are spaced closely.

another option may be the new ratios in the cadillac CTS.... the 6 speed is referred to as the Aisin Warner AY6.

(according to caddy engineers) "the second third and fourth gear ratios were changed late in the program as a direct result of testing on the Nordschleife. good news for camaro buyers as they will get the same gearset." motor trend sep 07

while some feel that the tremec has a problem w high rpm shifting it continues to be improved and i don't expect a problem.

i will run the stock mazda bellhousing, my exedy twin cerametallic clutch, either purchase or fab a 4 inch spacer adapter (to clear the starter) and have a longer input shaft made by Liberty. i plan to be a little different and retain my PPF.

anyway, i just thought i would note for all interested parties the new ratios for the T56. i will follow up w the rest of the ratios or perhaps someone might know.

anyone know anything about the cadillac warner box?

Nice find Howard! I'm looking for a nice 6 speed gear set in the future. Do you think it would be possible to swap in a higher gear set for 1st to make it more streetable? That 2.26 1st gear ratio (3.48 for stock) looks awfully tall for the torque less rotary. It would be like your taking off in 2nd gear all the time.
