Viking War Hammer 08-11-09 01:28 PM

Hmm, might drop the motor in this weekend..... but won't be "ready" for a few months.

Things to do,

Wire ignition
Buy a couple few pumps
Mount new radiator
Figure out where I can fit a intercooler
Plus a few little misc things

Now he's cooking with gas......the stove appears to be gas, at least.

And laminate counter tops? If you're gonna run that turbo, you need to upgrade to granite.:)

If I do granite, I won't be allowed to put my car parts on it!

Juiceh 08-12-09 07:48 PM

LoL, I saw the frown face next to the thread and I thought your turbo was damaged during shipping or something. Now I know its just because you have a small toaster!

2J-Z 08-12-09 08:01 PM

That thing is huge, makes my GT35 looks like a T3 LOL

What kinda power you looking to make?

1.5 Gigawatts so he can go into the future where toast cooks itself.

Erdin 08-13-09 09:14 AM

i think we all like to toast things these days:) i cant wait to see what sort of power it will put out. Also what sort of boost are you going to run?

Chaotic_FC 08-13-09 09:29 AM

lmao at this thread!

good luck with your new turbo, it sucks that you had to get it, but hey, we live and learn.

Has anyone ever pulled their engine out without a hoist? I did on saturday, I got impatient and dead lifted it out of there.

You ARE a bad BAD mofo if you did that!!

imcuban2 08-17-09 03:50 PM

Engine

Yeah I have done it before. Trans was gone and header was off came out with no problem. I lifted it out next day though rotator cuff was irritated for a couple days. I move engines around the shop that way all the time. For a rotatry a hoist is to much to hassle to push around when I work with limited space. The trans is even lighter I just un bolt it use s pry bar to pry it back and pull it off and put it on the work bench.

Viking War Hammer 08-17-09 04:00 PM

Yeah, I have no problems carrying the engines around the garage. But, yanking it out of the engine bay was awkward to say the least.

I just bolted a chain from one side to the other, threw on some gloves and curled it. Showed that mofo who the boss was.

imcuban2 08-17-09 04:09 PM

engine

Nice!! I wish I could curl it. I one of those people who have to work twice as hard to develope my bi's. My tri's, shoulders and back are OVER developed so I have to use my strengths. That will be new goal to curl a 13b out of an engine bay !! Thanx for the motivation.

Erdin 08-18-09 05:59 AM

I had to carry the engine and trans connected through the house with my brother up 3 staircases that was a bitch of a job, carrying the block on its own ant that bad thu. when you dont have a garage thats what you have to do!

Viking War Hammer 09-02-09 11:33 PM

I finally rustoleum'd my manifold
