here are pics of my fd project that ive been trying to get together for well over a year now! here is the engine being assembled on sunday by me and a friend. the setup is going to be a h/b port, ported by bdc. brand new rotor housings, all new bearings, dynamically balanced, 3mm seals etc etc... its also going to be running a gt42r, hot side 115 A/R. ill keep pics updated during the build.

sounds like it's going to be a pretty hot little setup there, but the pics are too small. what are you doing for fuel support?

fd rotar tt 03-20-07 08:31 PM

yea sorry about the size, im not too good with pics and stuff on the internet. but im running rx7 store rails with 1600cc and 850cc im not sure if this going to be enough but well see how it goes. also running a surge tank setup with a internal supra pump, and external aeromotive pump, aeromotive fpr, i didnt buy fuel lines yet not really sure on what size yet.

No_Rotor_RX7 03-20-07 10:09 PM

i run 1/2" aluminum hard lines... or -8an split to two -6an at the rails would suffice.

Hey Chris, right on! Glad to see it beginning to come together. Let me know when you need a base map to get it started.

Just remember, if you don't top 800+ hp, there are going to be some people that say that bridge was a waste of time over a streetport! ;)

Nah, I would say anything below ~600rwh hp is a waste.

fd rotar tt: good luck with the project and hopefully you'll meet your hp goals with no issues.

well, he chose the direction he wanted to take. he didn't come in to start a shit-fight and then act like a tool "to play devil's advocate" with no apparent future goal. he's doing his thing and for that i commend him - no matter how much power he makes.

good luck, FD ROTAR TT! can't wait to see your finished product.

fd rotar tt 03-21-07 07:31 PM

thanks for advice guys, i apreciate it. B thanks again i really enjoy your work, ill deffinatly let you know when i need a map for the initial start. um yea thanks again for your guys comments, im deffinatly not going to be throwing out power numbers to you guys because i feel that power depends all on the tune and tuner mostly. and you cant make any guarantee's until its done right?

diabolical thats exactly how i feel, i chose what i felt would be good and im going to stick with it. thanks guys!

fd rotar tt 03-21-07 07:33 PM

also if you guys are intrested in seeing my ports more close up, go on bdc's site im on there under t72fd's ports (thats my nopistons name)

fd rotar tt 03-21-07 07:54 PM

also no rotor rx7, what if i just ran -6an from tank to the rails?

I'm with you 100% and obviously also respect his decision.
With a GT42 hanging off that 13B he definitely has a goal :-) ....and I'm sure he will do well in the hp department.

Again, good luck.

man with your setup i wouldn't do that. you need volume so atleast run a -8an from the tank. then you can Y it off in 2x -6an thru the rails and a -6an return. don't chance anything on the fuel side ;)

fd rotar tt 03-22-07 12:53 PM

ok will do, thanks for the advice.

ok ive been a little lazy keeping everyone updated but here it is, ive been dissassembling the front end of my car to paint the engine bay before i put the engine and trans in. the engine bay was black, the car is silver, so im repainting the whole car. i chose dark shadow gray for the color so heres some pics, i also forgot to take pics of everything primered because im a idiot.

fd rotar tt 03-31-07 06:47 PM

tommorow im putting on my giken twin disk, then the engine and trans should be ready to go in. im putting in pretty much a bare block and trans so i can mock up fuel lines and charge pipes, and exhaust, etc.

fd rotar tt 05-11-07 08:13 PM

sorry guys for not keeping everyone updated ive been kinda lazy. but ill get some pics up sunday, so far i got engine and trans in, and for the past week ive been putting in my fuel cell and eliminator pump and braided lines etc etc. im also waiting for A-spec to finish my exhaust manifold then ill be able to get to the real good stuff done.

question: do you have any info on your GZM LIM? i'd just like to compare it to the one A-Spec has and the GZM website seems to either be incomplete or not working.

fd rotar tt 05-14-07 06:03 PM

also that y fitting kinda sucks, its giving me a hard time because its keeping the lines to far away from each other. im trying make it look a little cleaner under there but im having a hard time doing it
