More porting pics!

nice pix. i'm waiting for somebody so say it's totally wrong and to throw those housings away

Mach2 11-17-01 11:41 PM

Hey Vosko,
I know what you mean. FYI that porting did not touch the inside edge "at all"! Had problems previously with oil being consumed, so I made sure the inside stayed 100% intact! Like in your case these housings are "brand new" therefore the ring that you see is not the oil ring trace. I'm not worried about anyone saying to throw them away. Just hoping to get some good opinions on shape and size! That's all!:) Let's see what happens!

when the rotor housings are done, post them too! CJ

doesn't look like the back edge of the primary ports has been taken back to have the same opening timing as the secondary ports, this allows for more even air flow by having both ports opening at the same time, also means more HP.

Mach2 11-18-01 03:19 PM

HWO,
the opening(back) and closing(top) timing of both the primary and secondary ports is "exactly" the same. It might not look like that in the pics, but it is. Thanks for the input.

porting

From my experience looks like you have a good basic port design for the face. I agree with the even open/close especially for beginners. If you can get a copy of the New Zealand mag that Blake has an artical in, it covers alot of territory. The face is only a part of the big picture, the runner is also important!! Rob
