max boost on stock t11 internals?
 

hey guys forgive me but this just seemd like the right place to ask ... im doing a full na to t11 drivetrain swap however im not keeping the stock turbo im looking to get a garett to4e and i was wondering safly what would my stock internals and my drivetrain me capable of?... any input would be great thnx

This is a very broad question.

The engine block itself can probably handle 30-40 PSI boost with no modifications no problem.

The PROBLEM is that everythign else won't take that. The differential and axles, etc probably get to be a weak link around 20 PSI plus or minus due to the power you'd be making... the stock fuel system can't really run over about 10 PSI safely at most...

Assuming you have enough fuel, a properly tuned aftermarket computer (like a Haltech maybe), etc etc... The differentials and axles tend to blow up due to drag launching at around 15-20 PSI... the transmission can break too, but that's usually not until you're running a decent amount more power (25 psi maybe?).

I think you can see that it's a very complicated question.

Anyhow, it's all kinda irrelevent since in my opinion, you don't want to run a T04E over about 20 PSI anyways, and even that is a stretch.... if you're looking for big power, a T04E isn't what I'd pick...

Sorry to give such a complicated answer! Maybe some of the points I bring up will help you get your project more defined.

If you had a horsepower target at a certain boost level in mind, as well as how you plan to use the car when it's all done, it would help people evaluate which parts might become the weak links.

well to be compleatly honest with u i am not sure i want to be running more that 20 psi anyhow .. seeing as i wish to keep this as somewhat of a daily driver .... however .... would the t04e be beyopnd its effiency after 20 psi.....anyhow .. i hope that narrowed it down a bit .... neways thnx for the input much appreciated by the way my name is brian as well lol

What year T2 engine are we talking here?, 86-88 or 89-91? Reason I'm asking is because the 89-91 engine is stronger than the 86-88, and will tolerate more HP with less modification than the 86-88 T2 motor.

well i have an 88base ..,. i am awear im having to change my engine managment anyways .. so would u all recomend that i use a 90-91 dirvetrain?... and should i use s4 or s5?.... mine is s4
