Massive Oil Smoke on Decel

Hello guys, hoping someone can chime in and solve my problem.

when running higher speeds and rpm's, and letting off throttle, i get a plume of whitish smoke from the exhaust. this is during high vaccuum. it never happens in boost or at low speeds. turbo is a brand new journal bearing PTE 6266. i've vented the cranckase to a breather from the oil filler neck and from the rear turbo drain. i've also tried a few different oil restrictors on the turbo, as well as checked the turbo oil drain. am i missing a breather nipple somewhere? what could be causing this? engine runs great besides this issue, i don't get any smoke on startup or at any other time.

Thanks

Did it specifically start with the turbo?

The symptom is typical of bad oil rings. Not having a functional PCV system makes this worse.

it did start with this new turbo and V mount setup. car had a S366 on it when i purchased it and it never smoked. but the turbo is brand new, so i automatically ruled out it being that. i called precision and they told me i had a crankcase venting problem. dont really know what to do from here. very annoying. i’ve got the crankcase vented with -10AN lines in the 2 locations people recommend.

"The turbo is brand new so I automatically ruled that out".

NEW stands for "Never Ever Worked". Never rule out new parts, new parts are untested parts.

next step is going to be replacing the turbo. been wanting to upgrade to the Gen 2 BB unit anyways. however my first assumption is that the turbo is new and thus my problem is elsewhere.

Post up your catch can set up.

Which fitting did you use on the oil neck?

One caused a lot of smoke in vacuum, and one didn't as i recall.

If FD asis the same as older engines, vacuum goes to the filler neck and fresh air goes to the port on the intermediate housing right near the filler neck. Oil splashes from the rotors onto that port so it must only be treated as a crankcase airflow inlet.

I have a 95’ so the lower nipple at the base of the oil filler on the middle iron is not there. but i have a -8AN line from the filler neck to the breather can, and also another -8AN line from the factory rear turbo drain to the same catch can.

oil level hasnt moved since ive been having this issue either

also: there is zero shaft play in the turbo and zero oil resedue anywhere in the charge piping
