Massive Oil Smoke on Decel
Hello guys, hoping someone can chime in and solve my problem.
when running higher speeds and rpm's, and letting off throttle, i get a plume of whitish smoke from the exhaust. this is during high vaccuum. it never happens in boost or at low speeds. turbo is a brand new journal bearing PTE 6266. i've vented the cranckase to a breather from the oil filler neck and from the rear turbo drain. i've also tried a few different oil restrictors on the turbo, as well as checked the turbo oil drain. am i missing a breather nipple somewhere? what could be causing this? engine runs great besides this issue, i don't get any smoke on startup or at any other time. Thanks |
Did it specifically start with the turbo?
The symptom is typical of bad oil rings. Not having a functional PCV system makes this worse. |

"The turbo is brand new so I automatically ruled that out".
NEW stands for "Never Ever Worked". Never rule out new parts, new parts are untested parts. |

Post up your catch can set up.
Which fitting did you use on the oil neck? One caused a lot of smoke in vacuum, and one didn't as i recall. |
