Manifold needed for HX52?
 

Was going to attempt to make my manifold but need to have the car done ASAP and do not have proper tools to do a great job.
I have seen other use an HKS cast manifold on their FCs but I have an REW in my FC.
Could anyone confirm that a cast manifold will work on my setup to save myself some time?

Any help? Not even "SEARCH"? Only found a few regarding HX52 in a FC..

it will work, Both engines are the same mounting wise. iirc there's more clearence on the fd lower intake manifold than the fc's. do you have a cast fc manifold?

None yet, but was looking at either or.

If you use the FC cast manifold, you have alot of clearence as it pushes the turbo forward.

If you use the Cast FD manifold, you might have to run a spacer if your hotside is big.

from what i've read(no real personal exp) the fd design has a poor wg runner design. I have ran a hks fc cast manifold for the last 4yrs with no problems. my setup was a precision 6776 with a 40mm hks wastegate. made 400whp on a mustang dyno. never once had a boost control issue either.

maybe I'll source an FC one.
I gave making a manifold another attempt today. I got it so the
turbo will fit, but I'm having a bitch of a time with adapting pipe to the T4 inlet holes.
Any thoughts on that? I'll probably just get an HKS one, but thought Id keep trying in the mean time.

Is the Holset HX52 even t4? I was thinking they were bigger. I have a HX40 on mine right now and it is t4.

Thats what I was thinking. But the 52 is one big turbo, I wouldnt go with a cast manifold just due to the fact that it wouldnt be fully divided.

"international flange"?..(read something about a flange called that being slightly bigger than T4)

Called a "Holset H2" flange I think. Nothing a drill or an air tool can't fix.
On a side note, I tacked up my manifold today. Fitment is not bad considering it was my first one. It's quite short, probably similar to an HKS. Going to get my friend to help me TIG it on Tuesday and then figure out placement for twin 38mm gates.
Also have the oil feed/return stuff coming soon.

sup bro, i run the hx52 on a cast hks manifold. youre right, a drill is the answer to your flange issue, the holes are a little off. ive been using this setup for a couple of years. my latest setup is haltech e8, 550 1600, ls1 coils, walbro and aftermarket reg. with stock rails. let me know if you need any thing.

Using a FC ebay manifold with the WG flange cut off and a tial vband welded on.
Just waiting on a turbo oil flange and gasket and I'll be ready to fire her up again

id go holset vgt turbo they have a 67mm version and a 72mm version. Instant boost and no back pressure best of both worlds
