Looking for suggestions on turbo charger's

Hey guys so, let me tell you my life story.

Im building a car primarily for track use as a drift car, but maybe some autocross too. I just wanna drive, and do it legally.

Ive got a good platform on which im building a s4 TII.

Ive got a rebuildable core which i plan to rebuild/ large streetport while its apart.

So ive been looking at turbo chargers, I held onto a s5 jspec with mani's i was planning on throwing on it once its running.

Then i started thinking hmmm, well maybe ill send it to BNR and get a stage 3 done.

Now ive come across a good deal on a godspeed to4b turbo. this one

This is my first turbo car, so im pretty new to all of this, hence why i am here asking for suggestions and hoping to learn a little more.

My goal is to hit right around the ball park of 300whp. I think that will be plenty of power for what im using the car for. Between the two turbo's listed above, can anyone help me decide which would better suit my needs and more importantly "why" would it be better. Thats what i want to learn.

Thanks for the help guys i appreciate it.

BNR has a great reputation, and Bryan turns out an amazing product. Personally I'd pick a known quality product :icon_tup:

that godspeed wont bolt up to a stock manifold. you would also need a T4 manifold, ext wg, downpipe, oil line and drain etc

the BNR will. go BNR

well this is what he said "it comes with a mani, built by rms witha 50mm hks style wastegate" oil lines and drain im not sure i will have to ask.

57 trim to4E will hit 300rwhp at very low boost, as mentioned requires a T4 turbo manifold, external wastegate, etc etc.

BNR is the easiest, cheapest route for 300rwhp.

400bhp just needs a S5 turbo with a V-trim compressor wheel, 360 kit (change over to a dynamic front seal). And that is as responsive as you will ever get. Powerband from 3800rpm to 7300rpm (especially when you tune it for 18psi low/midrange dropped to 13psi in top end). Its a very wide spread.

They are slightly less responsive than a stock S5 turbo (I've driven both) but you have an extra 130BHP headroom (and maybe more) in it.

For performance think driving up a hill in a loaded gen1 with a 220lb passenger, 220lb driver, full tank of gas. 3gear, apply throttle and half a second later you are turning semi slicks.

Say you drive over a seam between 2 sections of road in 4th gear with your foot down. That happened by chance and the tyres turned from 4000rpm all the way to 8000rpm.

BNR will be your simplest route for sure, match that with something like an RTek, and you have a good reliable platform for your intended use. However, it's not going to give you much room to grow, especially on the small stock manifold. A larger T4 based turbo might be slightly more expensive to start, and slightly laggier, but will give you all the room to grow in the future. I used to have a T04E "57" (although on the smaller o-trim) and it had great response, I wouldn't take a stock-based turbo over that. Even when I swapped a 35R compressor wheel on the same turbo (good for as much as 500whp) it still had great response.

I vote for a T4 turbo kit from a reputable turbo dealer, such as Turblown or Aspec.

I have part of that Godspeed turbo. Basically same thing but with an s5 exhaust side on it. I like it and I made 313 whp at 14 psi on stock top mount w/ water injection and 91 octane. I'm thinking w/ a proper intercooler and race gas I could have hit like 330 w/ that turbo.
