Looking to get a small turbo setup

Hi
Im looking to get a small turbo setup for my 89 FC totally rebuilt street port engine. I already have 720cc injectors Fmic T3 manifolds for either internal of external WGs Apexi ECU and was just wondering what is a good setup for around 350 or more hp 12-15psi? I can get a hold of a GReddy TD06H-20g for cheap off my buddy is it a good turbo for my goals? any other turbos?

thanks

Why not just use a BNR hybrid turbo.

if you want a setup for around 350hp, a BNR turbo would do great, and its basically a bolton for the stock turbo manifold.

I was looking into the bnrs but the shipping down to alabama would have been alot since i live in Canada plus my friend only wants 700 for the Greddy that is still in the box

GT35R....
don't cut your self short. Spend it now and save later..

how much is a brand new GT35R? they seem to be the most popular? external wastegate?

yes, external wastegate

If i went with the GT35R what turbine A/R what you suggest for occasional track and strip days but mostly streetable power?

just get the largest t3 housing you can get, which should be a 1.06. t3's are already fast spooling, and you wont cut yourself short of top end.

or you could look into a forced perforamnce t3 35r. theres a thread on here in the single section making great numbers on this turbo, 450 or something like that, while maintaining killer spool.

If you are sweating the cost of shipping a turbo from Canada to the US don't even bother thinking about a GT35. If it's an actual TD06-20G with T3 footprint (meant for an Rx-7, not with a tiny 8cm^2 hotside) you will get good spool with it but don't expect more than 350 on straight pump gas.

I've got something you might like. I'll pm you.

I can just Get a GT35R through a dealer here in town so im leaning towards that, but the Greddy is a T3 and i really dont know how fast 350 is gonna be cuz when my 7 was stock i thought it was pretty fast haha

whats the ar on the td06?

arghx 08-08-11 09:06 AM

it might be the 16 cm^2 turbine housing. Greddy turbos are rebadged/modified Mitsubishi turbos which measure hotsides in area (like a Holset), not area/radius like a Garrett.
