Keeping the inlet cool?

Hi all.

I've just finished fitting a HKS To4r to my Fd and have noticed first off the Air temp on my PFC has risen by 10deg even though i'm not running allot more hp than i was with my twins (Twins 310rwhp T04R 330rwhp)

Thing is i was thinking maybe the IC was too small? but even when the car was on the rollers the inlet elbow was stone cold.

Also i noticed the Inlet manifold itself was getting hot? it seems to be the lower manifold is absorbing heat of the Engine/Turbo and whilst its running you can feel the heat going up the lower manifold and into the upper, after a run of ten miles or so you can't touch the lower inlet and the upper is quite hot which worries me as i'd like to raise the boost but i don't want to while there is an Issue some where down the line.

I did think about getting some of those Thermal gaskets and rigging up some heat shields but i don' recall it ever getting this hot on the twins? so have i missed something or done something wrong?

Any ideas?

Get a turbo blanket and heatwrap the downpipe and possibly the manifold if its of quality.

Stock twins have heatshields. What exhaust manifold are you running? As mentioned do a turbine blanket first, then thermal barrier coatings.

Water/Alcohol injection also helps..

Its basically a HKS kit (HKS cast manifold)
