Intercooler type differences

Can someone please explain the difference to me regarding bar and plate intercoolers, and tube and fin intercoolers? I've heard certain people say bar and plate makes more power and more efficient and I've heard people say tube and fin is much more efficient.

Somebody explain please. :)

A simple search would have turned up

You have used up your stupid credits on this one!

The address is good if you actually tried it, the link is being corrupted by this site or something else.

This one is the same and worked now as the other one did earlier, try again stupid!

Wow, such diplomacy for a mod  Why dont you admit the link you posted didn't work because of the period. I know it's hard to admit your wrong, but sometimes you gotta do it :P

I just cut and paste, not my job to correct what the software does! That is what we pay bill for, MS errors!

.. simple answer, tube fin are better cooling but also create a higher drop in pressure across the IC body.. bar/plate is the opposite, you give up some cooling ablity to gain less of pressure drop. If you are running higher boost then choosing a bar/plate would be a better option.

I'm curious what leads you to say this?

I was under the impression that Bar and Plate types were more efficient, but HEAVY. Tube and Fin types are lighter, but a little less efficient. Weight vs. Cooling: Tube and Fin wins, you just end up using a little larger core. Also, if mounted in front of the rad, a Bar and Plate blocks the air more (and heats it up more) than a Tube and Fin.

ive heard tube and fin intercoolers ballon alot more then bar and plate
