identify this turbine housing

i bought this turbine housing and was told it was a turbonetics ptrim .81 tangential housing. not knowing how to identify a turbonetics turbine housing, i just assumed it was an 81, but while installing it, we noticed it appears to be a .68....

what the discharge dia? looks to large to be a .68

That would be a .68 tang undivided turbonetics turbine alright. Another bit of information for you, I'm not 100% sure because looking at photos can be deceiving, but it looks like your turbine has been "clipped".

.81 and .68 look very close in size externally. the only reason i'm questioning it is because of the ".68" cast into the inside of the inlet.

Because if you look at the picture, .68 is clearly stamped on the turbine inlet as it is in the majority if not ALL Garrett / Garrett based turbines including Turbonetics.

Turbine discharge diameter has not one thing to do with turbine A/R withen the same families (in this case T4).

Anything to say on the clipped turbine?

the turbo was a standard run-of-the-mill borgwarner t04b v1/v1 with a ptrim turbine wheel, so as far as i know, it was not clipped.
