I need a good FC manifold!
Ok so it is now winter and I have parked the fc to get some new go fast parts. One of the things I am looking for is a new exhaust manifold, the one I have is a cheap ebay one:icon_tdow I have searched on here and can only seem to find things on the fd mani. I have considered running an fd mani. with a spacer but I dont want to half a$$ it this time. Also the manifold needs to have a t4 divided flange and an external gate setup. Any ways if you guys have suggestions, websites or links to anything that will help me out it would be much appreciated
Thank You! |
Since I am in the same boat,I am gonna subscribe!
Info that I found out is that the Greddy log will need an extension to run the wastegate but the HKS will not need one as there is room to install something like a 50mm on it. The FD manifolds like Godspeed would need bracing and an extra flange to extend towards the engine as the FD has a smaller lower manifold.the FC manifold is bigger so the Manifold need s to come out more towards the side of the car. |

Good luck with them.
guessing he's backed up with work and taking forever i assume. course the pictures he uses are of the manifold he built for SmogSUX and was the prototype but it all fit nicely. |

I made a huge noob mistake of forgetting to plug in the power connector to my leading coil when I installed my ignition and was troubleshooting why my manifold was getting SUPER red/orange. So of the 3000~ miles I put on the manifold about 1000 of them (including an hour on the dyno) the manifold had to put up with EGT's that were WAY too high and it never cracked or anything. I was VERY pleased with the manifold. (Btw this was with a fairly heavy Holset HX40 on the manifold). Ryan has a section on his website that shows the custom exhaust he built for me and you can see the turbo placement and everything. Looks great, worked great.:icon_tup: EDIT: Also before I ordered the manifold and exhaust from him I probably had roughly 20 emails and a few calls back and forth addressing all my questions and concerns. Definitely would do business with him again. I also bought the radiator he sells. My car had some heating issues and I went through a Koyo, Koyo N-Flow, Griffin, and when I used his my temps were much lower. |

meaning? had my hands on it, was a very nice piece for half the price of some of the other shops.

If it were up to you guys would you do the shook or a neukin manifold? the neukin is more straight to the point with short and fairly straight runners. however the price difference might sway me towards the shook. would the bends in the shook mani. hinder flow enough to matter?
Also thanks for posting the shook website, I have never heard of them! |
I have used and seen Neukin products first hand. They will outlast your car and are unbreakable.
I had a problem on my nissan drift car cracking manifolds and the neukin is still going strong 4 years later even with its new owner.... crazy |
well, as far as personal experience goes you can't beat cast iron, even with a sledge hammer.
the HKS cast iron manifolds are the only truly "indestructable" that i've found and run. |
^+1 they are seriously indestructable!!! made 400whp on a mustang dyno with a t67 with one.

not really wanting to run a cast mani. and I dont know if the turbo will clear the n/a intake mani. with the cast setup.
Can someone please send me shook's email address? I tried to click the link but it wont let me open it! Thank You! |

I think he means divided. lol. i hate how internet hype and naming has ruin the true definitions of some things.
|
yes divided twin scroll (much like the s5 manifold)
|
Does anyone have pics they can throw up of the shook manifold and the placement of the turbo and possibly the hotside size?
Thanks! |

http://www.neukin.com/RX7_13B_FC_T4_...oldt4fc13b.htm Best manifolds for the money. The second link is a pic of my manifold, i have ran this manifold for 3 seasons of drifting and several drag days. I just removed mine and took the heat wrap off of it, it looks perfect not one problem. |
Anyone know if the A-spec gt35 FD manifold will fit the FC?
