How to remove turbo?

I did a search and couldn't find any useful information. My turbo has to be removed, because my car is causing a lot of blue smoke. We looked at the intercooler pipe, which leads to the turbo and there is a small amount of oil inside. What are the steps to removing the turbo? Any tips or information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Get a service manual, I bought mine for $11 and it has a lot of useful info.

Well, first you will need to jack the car up so you can get underneith it. Take your intercooler piping off the turbo, then take the downpipe completely off. Now you will need to unbolt the turbo from the manifold. Which turbo do you have? The reason I am asking is because different turbos have different flanges. You'll probably need to get underneith the car to unbolt turbo flange from the manifold. It will either have a 3 bolt flange,4bolt flange or a V-band flange which requires you to remove only one 10mm nut.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Resource. :) I have the RX-6 kit. What should we do about the oil line that goes into the turbo? Should we drain the oil from the oil pan first? I don't want oil to be all over the engine bay.

Thanks again.

Yes. Drain the oil first from the oil pan like you would change the oil. Remove the oil line on top and also the return oil line on bottom.
