How much pounds of boost

I am doing a project for my RX7. I want to do it single turbo but I am using stock injectors and stock Ecu. I only have street port and Greddy FMIC.

Until how much pounds of boost???????? I'll get Fuel cut . or How much boost can my car support whitout fuel cut????:dunno:

manveru 09-20-07 02:24 AM

what size turbo?

RX7Es 09-20-07 09:55 PM

The turbo is TO4Z single turbo. I really want to know how much boost can my engine support if is streetport whit apex racing, solid corner seals. My car have aeromotive fuel pressure regulator too and the things that I told you before.

I'm sure you can get your boost high with a street port and TO4... but it wont be worth it don't want your car running too lean... make sure you tune it and go by that until you upgrade you fuel and ecu... then you'll be able to run even higher boost safer...

How much pounds of boost do you think that the car can support safety????

Whit stock injectors and ecu like 15 pounds of boost. More or less than that.

What do you think???

Remenber the performance parts that I put before.

the stock fuel system on stock turbos and engine maxes out at about 12 pounds. with that size single and a streetport, maybe 5-7 would be safe.

Probably 5 psi safely. I saw a car with a t60( much smaller than your Z) blow at 7 psi with roughly your same setup.

You cannot run a single turbo on a budget setup, do it right( ecu/fuel etc ) or blow your engine.

I run a turbonetics BB 62-1 at 1 bar (14.7psi) on stock injectors with Supra pump and stock fuel pressure (stock fpr).

The key is using primaries and secondaries to their potential.

Don't just rely on your secondaries you'll need to use your primaries heavily to keep a nice ballance of injector time.

You might have to work your transition a bit but is well worth it.

My engine is not street ported and therefore not making huge numbers (also have cat).

I'd say 300rwhp as an estimate (ran 12.6@116mph). About the same as a car with mods and twins.

My injectors don't even get close to 85 percent duty cycle (about safe limit).

You can calculate your duty cycle by finding out your injection ms.

It's how you tune and your setup.

It's not that i'm too cheap to upgrade my injectors. It's just that I don't need to.

If your not running a stand alone or have no clue about injector duty cycles best to let someone who knows about cars make that decision for you.

1 bar is 14.5 psi. Also, if you trapped 116 you're probably making closer to 350 rwhp.

the money for a T04Z setup and no upgraded fuel? upgrade your injectors and engine management and actually use the turbo at the level its designed to be used at.

+1^^

u are running a t04z and not running normal to4z boost(+20psi) go for a new ecu, some big injectors and some ai to kill det. Then have fun.... running a to4z at low boost is jsut silly
