How much boost will a stock 13b hold?
 

Guys, I have somewhat of a stock motor, it is ported but running stock spring and seals. I am also running a MP T-70 with 850cc and 1600cc via a microtech mt-4 with a weldon pump. About how pounds of boost can i safely run before it will let go?

Too much.

There's no real answer to that question. If I tuned the car, you'd run 5 psi before it blew up. If crispeed did it, probably 30 :rofl:

too many variables.......although I have a feeling about the answer you're LOOKING for, and that is "most people run 15 pounds on pump gas because its safe and we're pussies" :lol:

Now, if I was to run superseals and new gaskets throughout, would that make any difference? Other than good tuning what will ensure me that my motor won't blow (parts wise). Thanks!

putting a horseshoe in your ass and clicking your heals together will keep a rotary from blowing, thats about it though.

depends on seals some crack under pressure...... rotary aviation, they have some un stopable seals , with those and some tuning with someone experienced like crispeed, enzo or zero R the possibilities could be endless

blow it up , look at what psi you where and then back it up 2~3 psi , thats where youre limit is
seriously , youre basically limited to youre tunning , like classic auto said , too many variables ,
there is kind of a unwritten rule going around that 15 psi pump is safe , and an undoweled 13brew on race gas is good to up to 25 psi
i have ran my 13b undoweled 20 psi on pump whithouth a hitch , maybe ggod tunning , or maybe i got lucky
either way ....the most important thing you want to do is look at youre A/F`s
that is key , and dont try to run too much of a macho timing curve or it can bit you in the ass quick

Are there any good tuners in Orlando, Fl? The motor is pinned as well. I am considering having the motor opened up and looked at. I would like to add a set of RA Racing Superseals. I just got my 2 msd 6al's back from MSD, now I will be picking up 2 850 and 2 1600 injectors. The motor has 160 miles since being rebuilt but I am noticing some white smoke. I premix but I do not think it should smoke as much.Other than a boost gauge(I have installed already) what should I be looking to purchase to help tune this car? I am pretty much a noob when it comes to the rotary motor but I am honestly trying to learn. Excuse my ignorance!

Stock seals are fine for most applications. I ran close to 30 lbs boost on stock seals. Many others as well. All too often people get caught up in how much boost, or how much HP. Boost is irrelevent, its the Volumetric efficiency of the setup that will determine how effective the boost numbers will show. Same with HP numbers...I can make no power till 5500 then 700 hp to 7000 rpms. That is not much of a broad powerband. My personal setup made over 600 whp and 460 lb ft from 4500 to 8500 rpms which is a nice street and track pb. My engine was completely stock inside with the exception of a standard street port. However, this was on the correct fuel and had the proper tuning for my application which is the most important thing besides having a sound engine.
I ran amsoil premix. You need a good engine management and someone who can tune them. I ran the Electromotive TEC3R. Others like the haltech, AEM, PFC, Pro EFI. You really need to find someone and talk to them like Crispeed, Cameron at Pettit racing or if you want to do out of state, you cannot go wrong with Ray at PF Supecars.

The question is not how much power it will make but rather how long it will make it.

I can vouch that a completely stock motor will handle around 27 PSI until the stock three piece seals become 42 piece seals (about 9.58 seconds).

It could be your turbo smoking causing that white smoke. As far as what you need besides a boost gauge.... get a WIDEBAND o2 sensor or EGT gauge. either will get the job done. you gotta know your afr's or... POP!

crispeed is the big tuna man , search him up , he`s on the forum , prolly on of the biggest badasses in tuning , and he loves walking aroung in a ninja mask cant miss it !!
