how many psi is safe for this setup ?

hi guys i have this set up in my car can anyone tell me what is safe ?

street port engine
T60-1 turbo
Apexi intercooler
850cc injecters X 4
PFC
255 fuel pump

the guy who sold me the car say is tune up to 15psi, but i would like to ask all of you before i up boost it. just trying to be safe. please help

If the guy told you the tune is safe to 15PSI, then it probably is. It's very difficult to tell because each tune can vary when you are dealing with a programmable ECU.

i know is hard to tell if is safe or not by just looking at the setup, but all i was thinking was that is the fuel injecter good for 15 psi ?

There are 2 questions here:

Is the car tuned safely/conservatively?
Are the injectors in the car enough to run 15psi?

The answer to the first can be found out by checking the timing and A/F ratio.
The answer to the second can be found by looking at the duty cycle when you boost to 15psi. You can see that with the commander or a datalogit. 85 or below is ok. You can go higher but it's not good to push it that high all of the time and I'd say you can only boost up as high to where the duty cycle is 85. You'll be right in that %, it'll be close

thank you very much, so what A/F ratio is safe ? 13.0 ?

and just more question - is 24- 36 psi fuel presure normal ?

thank you everyone for the help !

15 psi = >12.0 A/F to be safe

hellokitty812 10-06-05 11:43 AM

when you say => 12.0 is it when you full boost or even at idol ?

You really need to have a ROTARY SPECIALIST look at the car. Not many people will be able to tune it. You can run the car leaner to the point where it starts to build boost and then start to add fuel. 12 is pretty risky the stock ecu is richer than that for totally stock cars. If you have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator take the vacuum line off at idle and set it to base pressure 40. When you put the vacuum source back on at idle it should go down to ~33ish and you're all set.
