Hot housing A/R upgrade question
I am currently running a T04E 57 trim .84 a/r (divided) p wheel. My question what power/back pressure upgrade would achieved by upgrading the hot housing to a 1.00a/r (divided).

Exhaust backpressure should go down.
Power band shifts higher in the RPM band. -Ted |

Are you running a divided turbo exhaust manifold?
If so, the 1.00 should be fine. How quick does the 0.84 spool now? The T04E "57" is a bit small for a 13B, IMO, so it should still spool rather quick even stepping up one size on the turbine A/R. -Ted |

If I remember correctly, the "57" top efficiency is about 300hp @ 15psi.
I would step up to at least the "60" trim, as that should get your power goals. ...unless we're talking BHP at the flywheel? My numbers are at the rear wheels on a DynoJet. :) -Ted |

Yes, those are maximum flow numbers...
So they would be applicable if you're running...about 30psi? T04E "57" http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/t04e-57.gif T04E "60" http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/t04e-60.gif -Ted |

Yes.
Look at where the middle of all the concentric rings fall... On the "60", it right around 2.00 or about 15psi. On the "57", it's slightly higher. This is where the turbo is running at it's most efficient. Now, go down vertical, and the "57" is pumping slightly under 30 lb/min, while the "60" is doing a solid 30 lb/min. -Ted |
Thanks Much !!

My friend got 379 on pump gas at 1bar on that same turbo
