Hogan Racing Manifolds Vs. Jaytech Manifolds

Anyone have experience with the Hogan manifolds ? I know there is alot of experience with the Jaytech style manifolds but wondered, Is the $3,000 pricetag of the Hogan manifolds worth it ?

We're talking about a big boost methanol car. 2 rotor, large streetport or bridge (Haven't decided yet).

What happened to the blow thru?
And $3000 vs a couple hundred? I know what I am doing.

calculon 04-19-07 03:34 PM

not to threadjack, but damn the semi-pp 3-rotor mani is incredible. . .

The only reason I talked about going Blow-Through is because I had most of those parts and it would be a quick job. I then realized that this car is going to take me longer than expected so I decided to take my time and go ahead with a methanol injected 13B. :suitdance

I love that PPort manifold that they have. Slap that E&J throttlebody and go methanol and you will have on sick setup like this http://www.steidelracing.com/

I couldn't tell, what's he running for a manifold ?

13B-RX3 04-19-07 04:29 PM

Well Eric, i spent a bunch of time thinking about making a manifold for my next motor after seeing a sheet metal intake in Orlando. Then i started to think that MANY people have made 800-900HP with a carb style intake and decided to keep it cheap and simple. Are you looking to make more than that ;)?

He has a custom made intake manifold to suit his PP motor. :)

Yes it is and that intake is on certain 2nd gen race car.:)

calculon 04-19-07 05:13 PM

you. . . BASTARD!!!

damn you've got a ton of coool sh!t. care to share any details. . .setup, power, etc

So, what do you think about the Hogan parts ? I know when it comes to pistons, hogan is awesome. What about the rotary parts ?

cris, you're too secret squirrel :rlaugh:

I'm looking at making as much HP as I possible can. I don't have a HP figure in mind but I sure as hell won't be happy with a measly 603 whp :rlaugh:

I'd like some comparible information about these manifolds, though. I'm sure I'm not the only one. :naughty:

I'm still anxiously waiting to see your RX3 make a pass :Kill1:

AMMMM
That intake is not on my car. It's on a certain 2nd gen race car from up your part of the country!

As for Hogan's intakes. They are well made and worth the money I guess.
Now if they work on a rotary application is another story.
The cost to manufacturer an intake with that craftmanship is not cheap.
I have one on a 20B motor in my shop where the plenum alone cost over $2k from the CNC shop.

So, you don't know of anyone who's succesfully running a Hogan Intake on a rotary ?

Would this happen to be the 20B ? :Kill1:

The Hogan intake above is not for that particular motor.

Round Intake Runners and Square Ports !! Doh !! :rlaugh:

But, you said you had a custom intake made :smiley_12

Got any pictures ?

calculon 04-19-07 06:35 PM

just to be a nit-picky bitch. . .
that's not a 20B, it's a short-crank 3-rotor. . .

just to be another whiny bitch. . .damn those are some big P-Ports.

Works wonders with methanol and boost!

You and me both!!!

I am still new at this and don't have near the experience Chris does but i can tell you one thing for sure. Your "small tires" will turn to bands of molten rubber and glass before you exceed the potential of a stock REW intake:rlaugh::rlaugh::rlaugh:
Look at Rene's' car, IIRC he is making a little over 700 HP and spins all the way down the track.

As for boner factor, the hogans is off the scale:icon_tup:.
