HKS T51R KAI Garrett Equivalent?
I know this has probably been mentioned but I`ve been through about 20 threads now and I cant find the answer. Does anyone know what the Garrett equivalent of the T51r KAI turbo is?

Hey try emailing ATP, here is their email info@atpturbo.com. They specialize in selling garrett turbo's, I'm sure they would know the answer to your question about an equivalent.
Off the top of my head maybe a 42r?? I'm just guessing though, don't quote me on that. :) |
T51r
compressor 2.768 X 3.701 aver compressor area 8.38 sq inches turbine 2.811 X 3.228 average turbine area 7.19 sq inches the above sort of resembles the GT42 gt 42 compressor 2.768 X 3.701 aver area 8.38 turbine 2.961 X 3.228 aver area 7.53 looking strictly at the above i like the GT42 as it has a larger hot to cold ratio which is needed by the rotary. there are other iterations of both of the above that are larger.... as well as there may be diff hot side A/R choices that could change things howard coleman |
Thanks guys I thought it was possibly similar to a 42 but wasnt sure. Thanks for the help!!

It's a GT42 compressor wheel...straight off the shelf stuff.
The HKS T51R turbine stuff is strictly HKS proprietary only, and Garrett will not sell you any parts of it. -Ted |
Gt4094 is a real close fit to the hks t51r the 42 is the same as the gt40 94 for the most part. The 4094 is a smaller frame turbo.
