Hks Bov

I bought the HKS SSQV BOV kit for my Turbo II. Now im getting my front mount intercooler installed, how do i take that adapter thats on the BOV off. And do i have to weld it onto the piping?
|
It's held in by a snap ring. And don't lose the o-ring in the adapter.
|
Just by a new flange and weld that to the intercooler piping. They are pretty cheap. No more than $50 I think.
Or you could just cut the top off of the adapter you already have and try to weld that to the intercooler piping. -Kenji |
Flanges are like $20... at least, thats what I get them for.
|
Yea, they're pretty cheap. Since you're going FMIC, you're going to want the universal adapter. That setup is to replace the stock BOV using the stock lines and stuff.

Here's the adapter you need from ATP, depending on what type of IC piping you have...steel or aluminum:
This is the steel, $35: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/gr...lar-225225.jpg link: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=FLS Aluminum, $28: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/gr...lar-225225.jpg link: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=FLA |
Fuckin sweeeet

O and did you guys have to fabricate some area to make some extra room for the intercooler piping?
|
All depends on where you route the piping. This might have been something you took under consideration before you got the IC, unless you don't care to cut a little bit to run pipes. Most, if not all, FMIC piping requires some cutting or modifying to run the pipes.

I went with a "bolt on" kit from Greddy, but believe me when I say its anything but. I ended up having to remove my power steering pump along with a few other adjustments.
For the sake of simplicity if I ever do it again I'll just get a good sized core and let someone fab up a custom set of pipes. I'm not sure what you have, but more likely than not, you will have to work some magic to get everything in there. -Kenji |
i got a core thats 31" with endtanks x12x3.5
i got access to free aluminum piping and a welder but no access to a mandrel bender, prob my local exhaust shop will got one or something |
