High horsepower fuel setup help!
Hey I dyno'd/tuned my car this past saturday. Everything went well
The new motor sounded very strong and the new setup is Kick Ass http://youtube.com/watch?v=nyA1Lp77Qgo However I was not able to push the boost like I had planned due to fuel pressure dropping at around 26PSI (Boost) I have a walbro 255L HP pump feeding a inline surge tank with a -12AN outlet screwed into a Aeromotive 100 Micron -12AN Pro Filter then into a Aeromotive Eliminator -10AN line from there up to the firewall then reduced to -8AN to the rails -6AN return back into the surge tank, the overflow goes back into the fuel tank.. I still like to run the car on the street so I don't want a weldon or another aeromotive pump (pump runs fine till I'm stuck at a light) My question is would 2 Bosch 044's support 650rwhp on a rotary application? which would require 70+PSI of steady fuel pressure no drop.................. If not I could just say F'it and use 3 044' externals off a surge tank y'd into a -12AN line then y'd -8AN into the primary and secondary rails tied together at the regulator..................... I just want make sure I have no more fuel issues next time I tune |

@26 PSI? 350rwhp ;)

044's are rated to 80psi and we have run them in static applications of 125psi without issue so far. Two 044's should handle the job just fine at 70.

well lol I didn't record the highest boost pull ;)
thats pretty close for that lower boost pull on the vid started off at 15PSI wastegate spring pressure to 26PSI on the Boost controller 1st pull right off the bat @15PSI was 429rwhp in the upper 10 AFR's Gaby had to dump fuel to try to smooth out the curves on the screen cause of the weak fuel pump Next time around with a better fuel system we'll be able to lean out the AFR's with out pressure drop No secret My Goal is 650rwhp..... I don't need 700-800 rwhp to run 9's Theres a saying Big Turbos require Big Boost :D Next time It'll be big boost |

2 044s of a swirl pot will be fine, we've run 160+termainals (not sure on HP) on twin 044s with petrol, so you should be ok.

Twin 044's will be just fine...
I also have no luck with aeromotives. I will never use them again... 044's or mechanical for me... |
whats wrong with 2 supra pumps no noise, still streeetable and i believe thats what erniet is running with just shy of 800whp

why not just run 2 walbros in tank?

I did have 2 walbro intank but I don't trust them at high pressure ratios
I'm thinking of how to design a 3 pump system (actually 4 pumps with 1 swirl pot feed pump) since I do got a extra walbro pump I could stick in the tank again 1WLB+2 044 externals This for future growth potential in case I decide to step up even further and run 6 injectors and beyond 3Bar aka E85 |

Final numbers where in the mid 500's (I might attend a local dyno war so actual numbers shhhhhh ;) will go again for 32-35 PSI in mid to lower 11 AFR's and Q16 fuel instead of C16 Bullseye Turbo was really picking up steam as we got closer to mid 20's and I'm sure would screem! in the 30's where it really like to make big power |

yea but I would have to get a fuel pump controller
must cars I've seen with weldons and the like are trailered street cars, cause the small print on those pumps read "Limited street duty" I actually do drive my car around for quite a distance in and out of traffic We'll see what I decide on. I'm parking my car for a bit |
I've always had a A1000 without a controller, and daily drove the car.

Well when it comes to Aeromotive what do you consider a reliable product
5% failure rate 10? 15? 20? 50?% seems to me its about 30+ failure rate on there red pumps In any other company this is unacceptable quality |
I must be the only person that's had great results with the A1000.

nope 70% have there pumps last a few years with a pump voltage controller
or in most cases very little street duty... 30% failure rate is unacceptable do a search on many many diffrent car forums over half the responders have bad things to say about Aeromotive Red pumps |
Oh, I know this. I've known this for years, ever since I put one on my FD back in 2000. I heard alot of bad things from the ford guys but also heard alot of good things. It's a toss up. If mine failed me, I would switch to a Weldon.
