Help with Turbo Hosing

1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone, I just finished putting in my new fuel system with top feed injectors and new fuel rails. I removed all emmisions and solenoids under the UIM except the double throttle. Now that Im putting everything back together again I noticed a hose coming from my turbo that I don't remember where it hooks up to. It might go to the Injector Air Bleed Socket, but I dont know for sure if I still even have that or if I removed it when I was doing everything under the UIM.
Can Anyone tell me where this hose connects to? Also if you have any pictures of where it connects to, or know what to do with it if the Air Bleed Socket was removed then please post.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Also heres a pic of hose.

looks like it goes to a wastegate/boost controller or something related
there's no pictures of that setup because it wasn't made like that from factory..

Why didn't you remove the double throttle while you were at it? that's one of the first things I would've done.

Because I thought I might end up ruining something in the process. Also There really aren't any improvements other than simplification. But the most substantial reason is that I felt too lazy...so ya.

But anyways, I know the line doesn't go to the wastegate or a boost controller. I think it either went to the Injector Air Bleed Socket or the Oil Metering....whatevers. If anyone knows where it went, or if since I took out my stock fuel system I can eliminate that hose then please tell me. thanks

Not true. You're taking out a restriction in the intake air path. Less restriction=more flow=more power.

Ok, you caught me, the reason was purely laziness...But seriously, I still dont know what I'm supposed to connect that vac hose to.

Well, where do the two blue ends go to? Have you checked the nipples on the inside of the LIM, and have you checked to make sure your oil injectors are getting vacuum (not boost)?

One of Blue tubes is going to the IC Pipe and the other should be going to the Oil injection vacuum line. I believe it originally was hooked up the same way that it shows for intalling the XS turbo kit. It shows how on page 8 here http://xs-engineering.com/media/faqdocs/15_print.pdf

However in the picture it shows it getting T'd into the rats nest which I eliminated.

One other question I might as well ask. I attached a picture that will help explain. On the picture there are 2 question marks next to what I think are oil lines. I capped them off because they were only going to the rats nest where the ends were then capped off. Are these 2 things supposed to be capped off or are they supposed to get vacuum? If they are supposed to get vacuum, what would be the easiest nipple to hook them up to?

Thanks

I can't tell from the picture, but if they are located right on top of the rotor housings then those are your oil metering injectors. As a stated above, they should be hooked to a vacuum (but not boost) source. From the factory they attach to a nipple on the elbow between the front turbo air filter and the compressor. For my single turbo setup a guy on the forum fabbed up an aluminum sleeve with a nipple that will sit between my air filter and compressor. They should not be capped off, I dont recommend running the car like that.

Ok, so I decided to take the "T" off and just connect the IC Pipe to the Oil Injection Vacuum line. If anyone knows that this is a bad idea, please tell me.

As for the oil metering injectors, I still don't know what to do with them. I have read a lot about them, I figure that they connect to vacuum to make it so less oil is injected. I don't really know which vacuum location to hook them up to as I'm not very mechanically inclined and I don't know which locations are all vacuum and which are vacuum/boost, I learn better with pictures. If for some miraculous reason you have a diagram with the exact location of a nipple that is all vacuum then please post it.

Thanks for all the help goodfellaFD3S

first...DO NOT HOOK THE IC PIPE TO THE OIL INJECTORS!!! This will most likely give your motor a short lived life. They NEED vacuum (suction, no pressure) at all times...the only place to get that is from the intake (pre-turbo)
