Help me figure out this fuel system

So I finally went to put together my fuel system since my engine is done and I am VERY confused. I purchased an entire brand new fuel system including both KGparts rails, all injectors, clips, fpr, ect ect, supposed to be everything exept a pump. Anyway, layed all the parts out and this is what got: (not pictured are the rails, injectors, clips and resistors, those all showed up fine, im just confsused about the plumbing)

So how the hell am I supposed to plumb my system with just the parts above when Im assuming this is what it should look like?

Seems as if im missing a shitload of stuff or what?

It looks to me like you bought the kit from the Rx7store and you are trying to run one of the plumbing options from KGParts.

I would call Jason or whomever you bought the kit from. You did not buy it from us (KGParts) as we do not use Jegs fittings (not saying there is anything wrong with them) and if you ordered both primary and secondary and asked for the parallel set up your package would include exactly what you see, how you see it.

Top picture.... I am just about as confused as you are.
It looks as if you were given the plug because only one feed port of the FPR was indented to be used, but you were also given -6 union fittings for feed and return for the FPR. You should not be using union fittings, but fuel port fittings. Fuel port fittings will seal with an o-ring where the fittings you have are intended to seal with the 37* JIC end with a female JIC. Not the right fittings, BUT you can get them to work by shaving the 37* off and adding an o-ring.
The 90* fittings are right. The straight hose ends are right but will only make 2 lines. Looks as if you have enough braided line to make 2 lines. Enough line and hose ends if you were only trying to replace the secondary rail.

It looks like a packing mistake was made if you purchased from the rx7store. If so, just call Jason and I am sure he will make it right for you. If you bought the kit from someone else other than Jason or myself and they are not helping you, call the Rx7Store or KGParts and one of us will help you out.

return port from FPR back to firewall.

Ah.. ok, I was thinking that.. but wasnt all that sure. Does that "T" in the return line affect flow at all? The way I'm making mine is (2) -6AN 90 degrees coming out of the fuel rails. One rail going into one side of the FPR and the other fuel rail to the other side of the FPR. Is that ok?

By the price ive spent so far on all my fittings and everything, I should have just bought that fuel setup.. it wouldve been cheaper :)

ooh and DriftDreamzSS, I noticed the flare plug is -6? Isn't the port -10AN on that inlet on the FPR? I may be wrong but Ive seen the aeromotive FPR with -10AN inlets, along with my SX performance FPR.

T is in the feed and no it does not effect it enough to worry about it. The way it sounds you are saying the lines are run is not a problem and are exactly how the bottom picture shows. Maybe I am not understanding you???

A lot of people say that AFTER they think they can do it cheaper on their own....

If he was (and he was from the picture) supplied with the 13109 aeromotive, then it is -6

That is what is pictured in the 2nd picture, first post. same idea

Okay, I got it now. :)

I was thinking the "T" was combining the two fuel rail return lines into one to go into only one port of the FPR, while the plug in the first pic plugged up the second inlet on the FPR.

And that the two straight lines with the two 90 NPT ends on them were the feed and were supposed to be connected to a Y. Sorry for the confusion, I get it now though

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, maybe they packed the fittings for the kit with 1rail on accident, I was looking at what I had and trying to figure out how the hell I could possiblly plumb both rails and a fpr with only those pieces pictured. I sent an e-mail to the place I purchased from so hopefully ill get it figured out.

FrankV702 01-30-07 03:04 PM

Just out of curiousity, how much did you pay for the kit?

DriftDreamzSS 01-30-07 03:07 PM

$875 plus shipping

FrankV702 01-30-07 03:41 PM

Yea defintly call the place back and get some more parts, Your missing 8 straight AN fittings. 3 90 degree fittings. And the fittings that plug intot he ports of the FPR. As Keith stated above, the ones included wont work. You need the flat ones with an O ring seal. And a few feet of steel braided lines.

should have order from keith! i had some problems fitting my kit and he was EXTREMELY helpful! Overnighted fittings for me, talked to me on the phone, and aswered all my pms quickly.

i would call Jason up and tell him your missing parts he'll most likely take care of it. sometimes people packing things up get confused or try to do it to quickly. there is a good thread by damian on here with the install of the kg parts kit. he even make a nice lil diagram that was helpful to cut your lines to.
