guys with custom fuel systems: what fuel filter are you using.

I was planning to use the FRAM racing filter.

90 gph and 200 psi max pressure.

With a Aeromotive m700 fuel pump.

Im using the Aeromotive filter.

82streetracer 05-19-03 01:21 PM

anybody, else

are you running a filter before and after the pump or just after.

93redFD 05-19-03 01:57 PM

I really dont thin it matters. Im using a mazda filter

depends on how upgraded your fuel system is. if you're running -8 lines, you don't want to shove it all through the mazda filter.

I'm using a pair or Earls Filters

Kinsler Fuel Injection's "Paper BRL" fuel filter, has 10 micron disposable paper element.

There should be a filter before the fuel pump suction. In-tank pumps uses a sock type filter that attachs to the bottom of the pump and in-line pumps use an in-line type filter that is typically like a 40 micron, reusable filter.

My aeromotive pre-filter is 100micron, metal element.

rxrotary2_7 05-20-03 06:39 AM

82streetracer 05-20-03 07:34 AM

SX Engineering makes an AWESOME filter that is extremely high flowing. I believe it costs around $50 and has either a reusable lower filtering stainless element or a replacable higher filtering paper element. I can get these filters for you at a good price if you like it. Check out there website.

What is SX Engineering's website? For those with braided ss fuel lines what type of hose did you use and where did you source it? I want something with synthetic internal hose like silicon. Is the teflon lined hose a good idea? What is the best for the job?

there is a low pressure cheap fuel filter on summit for like $35.

8 an port, blue anodized.

Does anyone see a problem using this pump. I already bought it so Im going to try it but what do you think???

I bought a stopck replacement from O'Reily. I tried blowing through it and it seams to flow plenty. When I updgrade to dual fuel pumps I will probably get a second filter. It cost something like $20. My friend has been running these on his 600 hp race car with no problems.
