GTX35 compressor with a p-trim 1.15 turbine, what to expect?
So I'm having a custom turbo built with a GTX35 Billet Compressor wheel mated to a P-trim turbine with a 1.15 a/r divided housing. Ball Bearing CHRA.
Basically what you guys know as a GT3574 or TD61 but with the new GTX billet wheel. It will be installed using a divided manifold with dual dumped gates and 3 1/2" DP and exhaust. Ported Xcessive LIM, Ported S8 UIM, 850/2000 injectors. PFC, HKS TP, pre-turbo water injection, etc. ON STOCK PORTS NEVER OPENED ENGINE So my plan is to tune up to 25psi or if I dare 30? I'm in PR so I'm sure to find a crazy tuner that will do it. Normally driving at 15 as low boost setting. So, what do you guys think? What to expect from this setup on stock ports? |
Just looking at the compressor maps you would expect T04Zish power with T4 GT35 spool
|
Just out of curiosity....How many miles are on your "never opened motor,"?
|
about 60k, I tested compression at 100psi give or take in all faces

That would be awesome to see 30 psi on this thing... |

Nice! This sounds very similar to my set up except I have the older t4 35/40. 3'' exhaust , wai, and am waiting to recieve my excessive lim . This should be a pretty close comparison between turbos.

Not really much to look at... But here she is..
Incase anyone is interested you basically have to buy a complete GTX35R, then a BB or journal bearing P trim CHRA less compressor wheel/housing/back-plate from us in order for us to make this combo... Not cheap, but if you money is of no concern, should be quite possible one of the best street 2 rotor turbos... |
YES! Can't wait! I'll post more pics once I get the whole setup ready :D
|
i think these turbo's ''GTX'' and the new BW EFR turbos will really push the limits of ''small'' frame turbo's.
|
Got the turbo today!!! I'll post more pics later :D :D

compared to normal GTX3582R - I don't have housings for it though and it's FS if anyone wants it!
note the center sections size difference and the p-trim has a taller turbine spacer also note the difference in the turbine impellers, the p-trim is shorter front to back but has a larger diameter and the exducer is flat while the gtx35 has an angle to it... an yes, I somehow balanced them like that for the pic. sorry for the crappy quality, all I have is a celphone camera! Elliot at Turblown did a great job with this turbo and also communication is top notch! |
Very nice!

Nice. Last pic is kinda dangerous lol
|
Get that thing on and get some numbers!

wow, thats sexy! Keep us posted!

any update on this?
|
I'm still waiting on these to arrive:
DP, Mani, Lines CJM Fuel System so can't do much yet... |
Any reasons why your not going the 1.05 a/r ? thinking it will choke up on the higher boost level's ?
would be awesome on the 15psi daily driving id expect. |
it was recommended by Elliot from Turblown when he built it. Less restriction, better potential.
I figure if I had this turbo built I want to test it to its potential and not restrict it. It's going on a stock-ported engine so it'll be really interesting to see the results I get. |
How's the turbo setup going?
|
Hey any update yet?

I would hope there will be some results soon, more and more are starting to float around out there...
