Any other search words? All I get is this thread and the other one on the T-04S, etc.

rxrotary2_7 05-14-02 09:45 AM

i think what was meant by that was to search by user name: A-Spec Tuning

or by key words: gt35/40
;)

FourtyOunce 05-14-02 01:02 PM

search GT3540

Directfreak 05-14-02 01:58 PM

Outstanding...

This seems like the Turbo for me and my Project "Cosmo" Kramer

I understand it spools up nicely and full boost is instantly available anywhere after 3000 RPM...

So, Two more important questions.

1)Does this turbo lose efficiency/output at redline? (7500rpm)

2) What is THE Lowest Price anybody has found it, and where? In a previous thread RPM said to deal with A-spec.., but now they are a sponser, so WTF?

All I need is the Turbo as I am having the exhaust manifold made.

Thanks!

mmonaco 05-14-02 05:14 PM

thanks, that was what i ment. YOu guys talk giberish too. Marc

Turbos can run "out of breath" and be inefficient if they are not sized correctly for the application and/or RPM range.

The goal is to have as much efficiency in the usuable powerband to obtain as much HP throughout.

that place is 1400 us. check out the banner for rpm above (one that says cheapest halteches) i am getting mine cheaper there.
although last time i talked to him, you may need to get manifolds from a-spec. i dont have to for some reason that i was already in his files before he cut a deal here in the USA...?

rxrotary2_7 05-15-02 07:41 AM

price for just the turbo there (rpm) is 2300 aus.

FourtyOunce 05-15-02 08:59 AM

watch out for customs duty when ordering from Oz.

rxrotary2_7 05-15-02 09:03 AM

good point 40oz.
i got some suspention parts for my rx2 from Oz and paid about 125 for shipping. :rolleyes:

FourtyOunce 05-15-02 12:10 PM

shipping and duties are separate.

rxrotary2_7 05-15-02 01:48 PM

in aust. money it was 210 shipping and 60 duty.
sooooo....it was about 125. i say shipping, because that is just the way i looked at it. it "cost" me 125 to "ship it". if you would like to get technical....yes they are seperate, but it all comes out of your pocket.

rxrotary2_7 05-15-02 01:50 PM

40oz....what was the breakdown of your turbo setup?
goods=?
shipping=?
duty=?

just curious as i am going to be using them soon (rpm) for the same setup...

Brad 05-15-02 11:20 PM

Yeah definitely watch out for those damn customs charges. I bought a GT3540, Haltech, and large (very) FMIC from Tim @ RPM. His shipping charges were like $200. I thought that was it...but then THREE DAMN MONTHS after I got the stuff I get a bill from the freight company for ANOTHER $200 for duties and handling/processing fees! SUCKS!!!!!

user 84205 05-15-02 11:50 PM

How much did he say it costs on the box? customs is supose to 3.5%. Crooked bastards!!

rxrotary2_7 05-16-02 06:55 AM

200 would be about right at 3.5%.
i know the turbo (entire kit) and haltech together for me was quoted around a little under 3500 us. and 3.5% of that is $122.

duty is more than 3.5%..if i remember correctly its around 10-14% of U.S. value

Ehughes 05-16-02 11:23 AM

Gotboostd7...What FMIC did you get and how much??
