GT 35/40 turbo vs. GT35R turbo vs. GT40R turbo
What is the difference between the GT 35/40 turbo and the GT35R turbo? I have read somewhere on this forum that they are the same thing, but I just wanted to make sure. Also, how is the GT35R turbo compared to the GT40R turbo in terms of spool speed and power output?

all of this information is easily found on garretts website, hell check out RX7store.net they have some info on each as well...

Also check a-spec tuning I think it's www.a-spectuning.com Another that shows comp. Maps and such is ATP turbo's web site. www.atpturbo.com

www.A-spec.com
35/40=35R=GT3582R GT is the type of wheel, 35 is the turbo designation or base model number, 82 is compressor exducer "R" denotes BB CHRA. GT40R wont spool nowhere near a 35R, power gain is minimal if when you switch to a T4 1.0 on the 35R at reasonable boost levels. Hope that helps. |
Thanks Zero R, I've always had this question about the difference between the models!
