This car has an RX7store stage 3 motor and running a mix of 110/93 octane. Air/Fuel was in the mid 10's.

do you have the walbros running all the time or does one get activated by a switch or comes on by the ECU at a pre-set boost level

nice numbers!

GRDDY 78 proves its selfagain compared to

The walbros are running all the time.

Jason, Good numbers. Are you still confident that your Mustang dyno gives "dynojet-like" results? I'm not doubting anything but I just want to know how many cars you've also thrown on a dynojet to see if the numbers are close (+/- 5%)

Thanks,
Brian

Is this T-78 with 17cm or 24cm exh housing ?

Thanks,
I have had probably 8 cars that have dyno'd on both and the numbers are very close.

Im not sure the size of the exhaust housing. They dont give us that option and the other housing it probably special order from Japan.

that looks good jason. can't wait to get some new primaries and get mine tuned for higher boost

kabooski 07-29-04 03:48 PM

what size lines with the Duel Wal's -8 feed & stock return? or -6 return etc

I've been meaning to do a setup like that 2 walbros
but always been told just to have 1 on for daily driving and 2 for the track

Jason

I dynoed my car on a dynojet and the numbers were right in line with Jasons dyno.
435@16lbs at RX-7 Store
465@18lbs at Moderns Speed Labs Dynojet

that sounds about dead on. i've been meaning to go to my local dynojet and spend $50 to find out how close they were.

good #'s Jason. Lets see if you can do the same for my FD!

We will be putting the car on the dyno again today. The car is still really rich right now, so hopefully we can gain some more power . Also the car has dual denso pumps, I'm seeing 71 % duty cycle at that boost level.

If you guys are going to do a few more runs, could you do me a huge favor and run a couple at lower boost too? I like to collect lots of graphs for my page ( http://www.catenet.net/dyno.php ) as you know :) Maybe 10 and 15 PSI or something would be great.

Also, how are you starting off the dyno? It looks like you have very little lag which would be unusual for a T78. Are you holding the load on the engine and then "releasing" it?

I guess I'm not too familiar with how the Mustang dyno works. I know on a Dynojet, you "see" lag because the rollers are changing speed the whole time, so it makes it difficult to preload the engine. So the only way to make your car look less laggy that I know of on a Dynojet would be to start from very low RPM, floor it, let it spool really slowly and then start logging on the dyno once you've already built up a couple PSI.

Anyhow, not too familiar with the procedures on a Mustang dyno... so I dunno. Is it really that lag free or does the dyno preload your engine somewhat so you can spool up a few PSI before you start graphing?

The reason it looks like it spools quick is because we are starting the run at 3000 RPM. We will start it at 2000 next time and the graph is going to look laggier.
We have the dyno setup so it loads it similar to a dynojet.
I will get a graph at the lower boost levels, but we will do that on pump gas.

Tune the car some more tonight put down 496rwhp and 354 trq boost is still running on the graph 19.5 to 20. I wanted to shoot for the 500rwhp number, but decided to get the car off the dyno for the day ( lots of pulls). Will crank the boost up to 22-24lbs and see what we get. will post graph tomorrow.

C16, 28 psi... hmmmm. Just think of the possibilities. Good numbers bro, hope to see you on C16.

that's just sweet! i'm hoping to be able to get my car back up there within the next month or so to get tuned for 110 octane and c16. we'll see if you can repeat the good numbers :)
