good turbo setup for autox and drifting
whats a good single turbo setup for autox and drifting, i was looking for a turbo that would spool up rather quickly and still be able to make a far amount of power

APEXi IHI RX-6 Makes I think up to 450hp, I forget if thats flywheel or at the rear wheels
There are a couple other setups. But APEXi is just one that always caught my eye. |
Big TURBO for AUTOx??..i dont think you want a big turbo. Most big turbos takes time to spool and are very laggy. But then again i might be wrong. Just my thoughts..A T04 spools pretty early.

T04E Kit from XS, same power as the Apex'i but cheaper, rebuildable, and faster spool up.

how long would it take for a t04r to spool up on a ported motor

Big turbo and drifting do not go together. :D
I'd take an NA flat-torque band ANYDAY if I wanted a drift car.  Turbos make for typically peaky and non-linear torque bands.  4AGE-20V revvin' to 12kRPM in a Hachi ANYDAY! muAHhAHhhahHAHAH -Ted |
I would go with a T04E - hands down. The X S kit is the one I would use - especially if located in the western states.
Here is a dyno of my latest T04E - tuning my X S Engineering. The dyno chart is posted here first. Rick's Dyno Chart regards Rick 1993 RX-7 |
TED hell yeah NAs are the best for drifting..HACHIROKU is my next car after i build my TII..
