Going bigger turbo

So since im waiting on my turbo i decided to go bigger (YEAH!)

On my GT4202R it already has the dual BB & the big ass 1.28ar housing. and you know im not even on the right hp mark on the car since its detuned.

On my 42 im taking off the wheel and putting a GT4508 wheel so well. More power at the same rpms And while im at it the A/C lines are going to be in a different direction so it doesnt pass by the turbo. and ill put a Catch can in as well

you can find more information here
its at the very bottom

how do you plan to put the power to the ground? I'd hate for you to spend all the money and effort on a setup that is basically useless.

ScorpionT 05-25-10 08:13 PM

How much power are you shooting for? And dont you have a fair amount of port work done? The 4508 compressor might be a bit much for the 42R turbine wheel if you plan on pushing it. You will be running higher boost to make the power. Fortunately spool will be similar with the upgrade.

like i tell everyone about my car. i dont care how much power i have. i just want to be able t bat a stock hayabusa

Trots*88TII-AE* 05-26-10 12:12 PM

I take it you'll still have to machine the 4202R compressor backplate?

Why not just go with a GTX 4202r? It has enough to give you a power-weight of a hayabusa.

allrotor93 05-26-10 02:43 PM

I thought you already had over 700 hp?

I would also go GTX-R. Im not sure what Tial charges for the 80mm upgrade, but for the cost it may be worth getting a brand new turbo and selling the current 42R.

the gtx wheel only makes a difference once you hit 30psi or more. And doing the 45 wheel swap is alot cheaper as they dont sell the gtx wheel by its self.

yeah on the first pull. But were not really finished with the tunning. once i finish this then i can finish the tunning!

turbotoaster 05-26-10 08:09 PM

you planning on doing it on a decent dyno this time, or at least making sure the load on the dyno is correct?

darkphantom 05-26-10 08:49 PM

heard dynojet you cant change corrections & its a hard dyno to load on so im going to use that

lol

darkphantom 05-26-10 09:53 PM

/\ there was nothing wront with the dyno

turbotoaster 05-27-10 07:09 AM

well that dyno carries less load than a 4yrd old asthmatic hedgehog, and you have done in your sig from 734bhp@20psi, when questioned you went to 23psi and now your saying 25psi.....should i wait till next month for 27psi?

you cant outflow the rules of a turbocharger, no matter what miami magic you through at it, do you dare me to wake the beast of Mr Coleman to explain it haha

That's not true. Look at the compressor map:

Now look at the GT4508R.

and the novela continues...........i justed made some popcorn and having some :beer: :lol::lol:

darkphantom 05-27-10 06:35 PM

Either way a dynodynamics will present more hp than any dyno just because it has the lightest load than any other dyno. Its the Corrections that we had to do to make sure it was the right power. In this case it was!

no it wont, its normally from lowest to highest: mustang dynos, then dynodynamics, then dynojet.

Its an established thing that dynojet will add around 10-15% extra over the others, infact enzo changed his numbers from 435whp to 500whp on his gt35 car to represent the power it would have made on a dynojet.

assuming you built an amazingly efficient engine setup at 23psi you have the use of 82lbs of air to play with, maxing that out gives you 640bhp.....your claiming 100bhp more than that so you can imagine why everyone is thinking this.

You want to tell us all about your power figures fine, but when we tell you they are wrong and why infact they are wrong, unless you can come up with a decent solution then noone will think any different, you were offered another dyno by a member on here, you declined.......from that point in my mind you made your decision to either by in denial or fool hardly believe you knew more than everyone else

Sorry to fan the flames but thats my opinion on it.....maybe im wrong, take it to the track with FULL boost and make a pass, we dont care about your ET, but your terminal speed will tell all
