Fuel system? W/Garrett T42
Hey guys, I will be pulling my motor soon to do a rebuilt/ performance upgrade.
My question is I will be using the T42, im sure some of you or most or you have also, I really havnt figured out what fuel injectors I should be using. I hear people saying use a 720cc primary and a 1600cc. Is that enough fuel going into the engine to support the turbo and make around 500-600whp? **This is what im going with so far** Racing beat: J-bridge port/polish Racing beat: Racing intake and exhaust port/polish Racing beat: Water jacket mod Atkins- Rebuild kit w/ 2mm apex seals Cyro treatment- Housing, Rotor, E-shaft, All irons Blitz- DD bov Greddy- FMIC 32R-spec Fuel system- Haltech E6X W/wideband senor and controller Fuel injectors- Unknown Oil system- Unknown Now if you think I need to do more stuff please feel free to tell me what needs to be done. I want to make sure the motor doesnt blow the first time the car is cranked over. I have rebuilt this motor before, but as I said I am looking for more from the car. But I want to do is safely so if you can add or think of anything that may need to be done I would greatly apreciate it. Thanks |
im by far no expert....but 720s would be a bit on the small side. if your tuner is any good you could have 4 1600s and still have it idle fine.

I would say at least a 850/1600cc setup. Make sure you have a good enough fuel pump setup for the larger injectors.
|
make sure you have at least 50% more fuel available than you think you need, you can always lean it out. Ron

4 1600s? that seems a little much. either 850/1680s or you could add in a thrid set of injectors. and whatsa T42? do you mean a GT-42?

I'd go with at least 850/1600. Make sure you have some good fuel pump setup for those puppies. The stock drop in replacements aren't going to cut it.

get an Aeromotive A1000 pump or the SX version of the same pump. theyre good for like 700-800whp I believe. If you really want over kill.. feed one of those two above pumps with a high flowing in tank pump :)
