Fuel Rail and Fittings Question

Hi all,

I currently have aftermarket fuel rails with AN adapters threaded into the rails (I believe NPT threads going into the rails). This allows me to connect all my braided line.

I'm currently redoing all my lines with black AN fittings and black nylon braided line. To clean it up a little I'd like to weld on -6 AN bungs to the rails, this would make it so I don't have to use threaded adapters (less chance of a leak somewhere).

I never see anyone do this, is it safe? Or do most people feel safer with threaded adapters?

People weld AN fittings on the end of S5 TII fuel rails quite commonly. The only reason they do this though is because they can't use a threaded adapter.

As long as it is a good weld, it should be safer than a threaded connection as the rail essentially becomes one piece. Whereas with adapters more leak points are present.

With either solution, I would say do whatever is easiest (adapters) or whichever you prefer. There is no significant difference between them as long as the weld is done correctly.
