Flexible single, max 350 rwhp

Hello guys I fave been searching on the forum for quite a while and found some info but not specifically what I was looking to find.
What I'm interested is a flexible single, I really like the performance of stock twins from down below and with technology few steps ahead compared to when the car was introduced, is it possible to have a single which could generate stock power levels (or close to that) from around 2000rpm and maintain power until 8K without drop in boost. Target power is maximum 350whp. I know stock turbos can reach that but the aim is simlicity and less heat level and my past 7 got me with its complicated vac system which is unable to work on unless you remove the UIM. From what i read here RX6 sounds like a flexible unit. Can it provide results I'm interested in or is something even better out there?

PWR RX6R.
Since it will be used in a rotary, the A/R 27 option is mandatory and you can then use the TCW76 or 77 version.

^^$2700 for a turbo??

t3 60-1 .84 hotside, or look into the new billet offerings from Precision.

Thanks for suggestions. Anybody has T3? Does it provide stock level performance from low RPMs?

A t3 gt35r w/ a smaller hotside (.84) will get you to where you want to be. Good response and power.

short answer is no. you are not going to find a single turbo that spools the same as the stock turbos and make the same peak power. the only reason you can have insane spool and the nice power that the stock turbos offer is because there are two of them. only one functions down low, etc.

if you really want to get quick spool and want to spend some serious coin, you could look into variable vane turbos.

the turbo's mentioned above will give you the power that you want and will spool fast. but like i said above, you arent going to find a turbo that spools as fast as the stockers. only problem with t3 footprint turbos is you are going to have your power fall off in the higher rpm ranger. if you want to make solid power to 8k then you need t4. you may loose a few rpm spool over a T3, but gaining 1000-2000 rpm of powerband IMO is worth it. i was very skeptical like you when going single, but ended up loving it.

its all a big trade off. i would reccomend a t4 Garrett gt35R or a Borg Warner/Bullseye S362 with ETT. either of those will easily get you the power you want, spool quick, and allow you to grow if you need/want.

A T3 35R with the .84 hotside or an rx-6 will be close to the stock turbos in spool and will both make more power. If you want to save money a to4e might make you happy as well.

t04e or t04b with a small t4 housing... that should do the trick!

gt35r is good, runs a bit out of breathe on the higher revs but at 350whp you ll be fine

yes. my car is being built right now with a TD06-20g kit. T3, and should net about 350-370whp with quick spool.

I am considering dumping the stock twin turbos on my 93 R1 for increased horsepower, but I don't want to spend a ton of money. What is the best bang for the buck out there? Is there a market for my stock turbos? Is there any way to get a used single turbo/intercooler set up from someone who is doing another upgrade? Can anyone help?

HKS intake mod
Greddy turbo timer and gauge.
3" exhaust from stock cat back (no muffler).
Exedy Stage 1 racing clutch & pressure plate

Not so "mellow yellow"

You can tell by my previous post, I haven't quite got the hang of this posting thing yet...sorry for the duplication.
