Finding a manifold for a T3 turbo?
I have this T3 turbo and i just wanted to know how easy it would be to make it work with the 13b? Any idea where i can pick up the stuff i need?
Thanks ~Luke |
Waste of time - T3 is too small for a 13B.

Isn't the stock Turbo II turbo basically a T3?

can somebody explain to me about the t3 , t3/t4, t4, and ect ect.... It seems like that the only thing Honda guys know about turbos. "ohh it has t3/t4 turbo" I dont understand it. If somebody would like to take their the time and explain to me about these turbos then I would appreciate it . Didnt mean to get of subject. thanks..

T3 is kinda like having a small-shaft T04 with much smaller wheels on it. T3s came stock on early Dodge Turbos and pre-87 Ford 2.3 Turbos, as well as some other cars. A variant of the T3 came on the Buick 3.8 Turbo engines. A T3/T4 hybrid is a T4 compressor wheel/housing mated with a T3 turbine wheel/housing. Not really what you'd want on a rotary, though. I SWEAR I read or heard somewhere that the Turbo II turbos were T3 knockoffs... in other words, there'd be no point to adapting a T3 turbo, when you could just pick up a Turbo II manifold and turbo for less hassle. |

T3 and T4 turbos share the same center section. Stock T2's use this same center section, but the wheels and housings are way bigger than the T3 stuff.

The Hitatchi HT-18 that is on the TII is pretty much a copy of the Garret T3, but with a larger cold side. Matter of fact, I had a Stage III T3 turbine in a hybrid turbo I had once.
T3's work well on 4-cylinder cars - they don't have a lot of exhaust energy, so you want a small hot side to spin the turbo up. The T3/T04 hybrid uses the larger T04 cold side for more airflow into the car with better spoolup from the smaller turbine side. Anyhow, a T3 is pretty small for an RX-7 - rotaries have WAY more exhaust energy than a 4-banger to get a turbo spinning. That's why there are such leaps in performance going to a T04 turbo from a stock turbo - freeing up the exhaust side makes a huge difference. Dale |
isnt the gt35/40 a t3 turbo

i always thoght that the T3 turbo was a step back from the stock FC turbo. Am i wrong on this. It just seems small. Now 2 T3's or T4's that would be something else.
