FD w/gt35r

Just got my car back from rotary power
Fresh rebuild
Street port
gt35r T4 w/.82 hotside

RE V-mount
Koyo radiator (still need to modify, move and duct for v-mount)
spec stage 3 clutch
racing beat flywheel

I only have 450 miles on the engine so I havent gone wot or made any boost yet. Still has alot of work to do, first things are oil coolers and finish the v-mount setup, tune, and then some stance coilovers and a tomei diff. I think im also going to have the bov flange welded on the bottom of the ic end tank so i can relocate the bov, i dont like the current placement.

nice ,how much did it cost?

7_rocket 01-21-08 08:33 PM

I'm going this route very soon. YOu got any numbers?

FYI, the AST is supposed to be at the highest point in the cooling system. Where you have it mounted isn't optimal, I'd recommend just deleting it altogether.

Good luck with your setup, you should have very fast spool, between the portwork and the turbine A/R!

The best parts are the new overflow tank and washer fluid tank.
Such sparkling new plastic!

Ill have to look into just deleting the ast then. Very fast spool is exactly what I wanted, its actually very hard to drive the thing at all without making some boost. It should be alot of fun.

What are you guys using for oil return? I cut the 2nd flange off the stock return but the hose would kink so for now im just using a crappy brass 45 elbow in the middle to prevent kinks, i would really like to figure out a better solution. I know atp turbo has fittings to use -an for the oil return, do you guys get steel -an welded to the stock return pipe?

7_rocket 01-25-08 02:17 PM

What turbo kit is it? rx7store? a-spec?

The way its run is ok, but shouldnt kink. Just use some longer hose and make sure it doesnt hit the manifold.

Ya, i played around a bit with different lengths, I think the problem is using the stock return fitting with only the flange cut off, I should have cut and welded it so that it pointed up at the turbo. Also Jason, whats the deal with the oil feed line, you wanted it to be an option to route around the whole engine bay or something? Do you guys have any that fit better or do I need to make a custom one?

Jason 01-25-08 08:49 PM

LOL yea that line is a bit long. Are you running it to the drivers side of the block for the oil? We usually just put a loop in it and ziptie it out of the way.

Is the black parts black ceramic, powerder coat, or black high temp bbq paint?

mazpower 01-28-08 02:28 PM

Nice setup Matt, glad to hear you got it going again.

Not sure if Miguel told you, my 7 will be ready for the meet next weekend but we're gonna skip it to street-tune both 240s. If you don't mind cruising up to Moorpark I'd love to check your car out. :)

Yeah, its good to have it back. I just read on another forum that you guys wernt able to tune the cars last week, that sucks. Ya, ill take it out to the shop one of these times. I still have to put a couple hundred more break in miles on the engine before I can tune.
