EFR 9180 IWG dyno results

Here are some dyno results from our cast EFR IWG 9180 turbo system at 18psi. This is on pump, with meth injection. The engine, tune and install was done by ForceFed Racing in Canada. This is on 13BREW. We are waiting on a full video with the rest of the details from them.

We finally had the opportunity to put a build on our Dynojet Research Inc. 224xLC that has been with us for quite awhile now. It's been a BUSY year so far here at Force-Fed!
Zafar brought us his low mileage FD3S with the hopes that we could transform it into the car that he's been wanting for quite some time now.
He opted for one of our half-bridge REW's to lay the foundation for this build, which we wired up with a trusty Microtech EFI LT-9C and LT-C Dash, complimented by one of our in-house built wiring harnesses.
Obviously a Borg Warner 9180 EFR was the only choice for this monster street build, but we decided to try something new for a change; for this car we picked up one of Turblown Engineering's new investment cast stainless steel exhaust manifolds, designed with the EFR series of turbochargers in mind. The kit components made installation quite simple so that we could focus on other aspect of the build.
We also custom fabricated a full 3.5" exhaust and downpipe using Vibrant Performance components and a pair of Magnaflow mufflers, as well as one of our signature mitred turn down exhaust tips. As you can tell from the video, it sounds pretty damn good! It's also quite quiet at idle.
Due to the scale of this build (aside from the wheels, suspension and radiator, this car arrived to us completely stock), it would be a challenge to type out everything that we've done to this beautiful Montego Blue FD, but some of the larger components include an Advanced Clutch Technology lightened flywheel and heavy duty clutch combo, GReddy Racing FMIC and throttle body elbow, Full Function Engineering fuel system w/ 4x ID1000 fuel injectors, Turbosmart BOV and EBoost2 electronic boost controller, AEM Performance Electronics water/meth injection kit and UEGO wideband, and a rebuilt 4.44:1 ratio gear set diff with a Tomei 2-Way LSD.
After putting some break-in mileage on the car over the past couple of weeks, we strapped her down and started setting up the tune.
After configuring the boost controller to work in conjunction with the very efficient 9180 EFR IWG turbocharger, we had this wicked setup making some serious power in no time!
With the boost capped at a stable 18psi for our pump gas and water/meth combo, we saw peaks of 590whp and 437ft-lbs of torque! Each consecutive pull was quite consistent as evident by the graphs shown at the end of the video. The torque curve this beast produces is fantastic; It almost looks as though its been drawn in with a straight edge! (See comment section for dyno graphs).
Suffice to say, we consider this build to be a great success so far (a few more upgrades left to come)! We hope that Zafar has as much fun driving it as we've had building it!

Incredible results. Would love to know if the tuner utilized wideband O2 feedback.

need to see with more boost :)

Or even a run to redline. Looks like it could make 600 on pump with water meth?

Since we are on the it would be nice bandwagon, would love to see injector duty cycles :)

Would an 8380 spool any sooner, and could you have it with the IWG?

nitroracer 05-03-16 10:03 PM

wonder what this turbo will do on a large sp 13bt on e85?

ill let you know how mine does in about a month..

Bridgeport
AEM coils
Lightned,clearanced and balanced rotors
studded
Xcessive lower intake manifold

(6) 1650ASNU injectors on e85 with adaptronic ecu

gonna go to around 25-28 psi and 9000 rpm

Here soon I'll be running a IWG 9180 into a semi-p motor. Large streetport on the irons and 1" peripheral ports on the housings. I would think if this was a 582hp bridge at 18 PSI on pump/meth that I should break the 600 mark with 18 PSI on E-85, but we shall see.

Oh I would love to have an update now. I bought a house, redoing the entire thing and building a garage..plus working full time. I don't even have time to look at my car :(.. but I bought a hoist so things should be easier for me

I guess for an update. I have none yet either. My car is in roller form, and I've modified the oem fuel tank to run external pumps, I'm currently running fuel lines to the engine bay then I'll be stuck doing nothing until I go pickup the semi p motor in late December.

Then I'll be on to install, wiring, tuning, and breaking drivetrain parts all in short order I'm guessing.
