EFR 9174 VS GT3574 Dyno comparison
 

I just finished remotely tuning this car an hour ago, and the comparison results are incredible.

The only change between this car in the dyno below is the turbo system. This is the same dyno( they did upgrade their software, hence the difference in the look). Well before the dyno the owner reported a dramatic difference in the powerband, so much that he reached out to me and said he couldn't believe it.

So top dyno is our cast EFR IWG 9174 turbo system, below is an older Aspec GT3574R turbo system( also BB). This one had an open dump Tial 44MVR, and 3" downpipe.

Same size downpipe, but IWG VS EWG. Bigger compressor on the 9174. Same size turbine wheel. Aspec kit has a smaller a/r however, .84 vs the .92.

Pump gas with methanol injection, half bridge, full 3" exhaust. On the top dyno the solid red vs the dotted in open downpipe vs the 3" full exhaust( solid lines are open exhaust).

I did a number of pulls and all the runs were within 1 HP, so this dyno appears to be very consistent. Not to mention the tune is also( Adaptronic Modular FD PNP). Ignition map is identical between both turbo systems. I didn't tune the previous setup, but I advised someone else on what to due following the same AFR curve as I normally use( high 10s). Obviously make a note this is a mustang dyno, and they generally read 12-15 percent lower than a dynojet( which I have personally confirmed in town, and many others across the US have too).

how come the open downpipe lost low end? scavenging effect ?

I think that part of the tune is just off. Nothing was adjusted, and I wasn't present( remotely ) for that back to back with the 9174 downpipe off.
