EFR 8374 Results, Large streetport- 93 pump & no AI
I posted these in my build thread but wanted to post them here as well because this turbo is gaining popularity and while there are several dyno sheets posted they are hard to find or not pump gas only.
Here are the sheets from the my power tune which was done by John Renna @ IR Performance. High Boost: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...aa480c8a19.jpg Low Boost: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...eaca9694fc.jpg Mods aren't crazy as I wanted a turnkey car that was on the more reliable side with no worries about an AI system. The car is a beast to me as it is now with room for improvement if I want to change some things up in the future. The build was done at IRP and short details are as follows: IRP Stage 3 Large streetport RX Parts Apex Seals IRP EFR 8374 single turbo kit IRP Fuel System with 725/2000CC injectors Sakebomb IGN-1A ignition Power FC EMS Resonated mid-pipe and RB dual tip Custom v-mount IC Boost was controlled with the PFC and factory solenoid in the EFR and gas was 93 Octane pump. More info can be found in my thread in the 3rd gen builds section. |
Very nice. 8374 seems like the way to go.

Before even looking at the charts I just want to say thank you for uploading them in high resolution. And I hope you didn't use Photobucket.

Nice job man! Love the setup.
I'm sure it's a blast to drive. |
What was the AFR at peak boost? it's showing 12.9 AFR as the lowest reading in the bottom of the chart. Is the AFR reading off?
|
Man that EFR sure is nice turbo

It's interesting that the power and torque curves are so different, primarily the torque. Does anyone have insight besides the difference in dyno type?
There is no boost trace on the plot, but based on the torque curve it seems like boost is building much slower on this graph. Aside from the low RPM area below 4000 RPM, the graphs don't look all that different. Peak torque is right around 5600-5700 RPM on both with both making just over 350 ft/lbs. |
Maybe the difference in LIM and exhaust....
|
Honestly the difference is probably starting RPM. Are you really gunning it at 2k rpm in 4th gear?
|
My tuner said he was late hitting the button. I am assuming the start button to log the dyno.
I am schedule for E85 flex tune this Saturday. I will ask him more info about my dyno graph. |
Looking good IAN, car must be a blast!!!
Any plans on adding AI? |

Looks great guys. Ian it was a pleasure doing the build for you and thank you for posting the results. The response of these turbos along with a solid build and tune is insane. Over a bar of boost by 3000rpm and over 400whp consistently on pump gas. Plus Mustang dynos tend to read 12-15% lower than a Dynojet. The car is a blast to drive on the street. Delivery is quick and linear, making for a more usable powerband. We tune to 10.7-11.0 AFR depending on setup under boost using a dedicated wideband. My dyno has 2 additional AFR sensors that can be placed where desired. AFR1 wasn't being used during these pulls. AFR2 was in the tailpipe, which tends to be a point leaner than the actual reading at the motor. The scale isn't shown on the dyno plot above. The 12.8 is around 2000rpm where we started and the 19.5 is full lean after we let off. 12.3 was the overall average.
