Dual wastegate vacuum/pressure line routing???
1 Attachment(s)
Is this the best way to route the vacuum/pressure lines for a dual wastegate setup using an electronic boost controller?

That's what I have used for the past few years, and I do think it's the best setup -- for an EBC or an ECU (the solenoid doesn't care what's controlling it). Judging by the quality of the diagram and the type of WGs, did this come from TiAL? If so, I would consider them experts.

Thanks, the original picture came from turbosmart but it was a single wastegate setup...unitl I doctored it and made the dual setup.

This is how I set mine up. Hopefully it works:)

Ok, cheers, will set it up like this and see how it runs...

A 4 port boost control solenoid would be a little different. The 4 ports allow a larger boost range, by going to the top(s) and bottom(s)of the gate(s).

The 4 port controller would be set up slightly different but I only want to run low boost (1 Bar) and will be using a 2 port controller, HKS EVC VI.

Update
Any update on how this worked for you guys? Im in the process of setting up my dual tail 38mm wastegates. Have a single Borg warner s363 just wanting to know how to run these lines. Previously i had (before it ran) 1 38mm and had a line going from that to my boost controller? Leaving one port on the wastegate open? Running a manual boost controller also. Any tips?

The reason why people go 4 Port or Dual 3 Port Solenoids is to allow a very low pressure spring in their wastegates (for pump gas), and then have nearly indefinite control of boost via solenoids. That way, regardless of fuel (flex fuel), the car has proper wastegate pressure for the power level that fuel can handle. Boost by Gear is also REALLY tidy this way too since you can run 5-7psi or something very low in 1st, 10-14psi in 2nd, etc. ECU Controlled Boost Control Solenoids is the way to go, but manual works if versatility isn't a requirement. |
