Draw through turbo and carb questions

Well I have a cartech draw through turbo kit. It is recommended to use a holley 390 cfm holley because "it does not need anything more" my question is does it hurt to go bigger? It seems that a 390 is no cheaper then bigger carbs.

since your gonna be running it draw thru then you probably wouldn't want to step up to a bigger carb.. I have always run blow-thru's and have made enough power using the stock Nikki. so a 390cfm is probably about right.

i run a 750cfm on my 13b turbo :D again tho... blow-thru. draw thru sucks!!!!!!! (literally lol)

what negative affects would a bigger carb have?

well, i sort of need to retract my statement... because i have used 650cfm's on my stock port turbo 12a's before :) the key is knowing these carbs inside and out... get a proform mainbody with air bleed adjustments and metering blocks with emulsion adjustments. you'll want a good 4150 model double pumper with large squirters up top and aggressive pump cams... drill out the PVCR's and switch the power valve over so that it is boost referenced. I have mine come online around 5psi.

negatives of running large carb improperly setup on a small motor: bad throttle response, very rich tune, laggy response, loss of power, etc....
