Did anyone ever experienced this prob?
 

I've got a small issue with my new GT35R setup /tuned by Steve Kan. I've been testing the car a little around the shop and everything and this is something that been happening to me and I am trying to figure out what would be the cause of all of this.

Here is my situation, I make the car pull strong in 1st gear, then in 2nd gear, and when I pop in the 3rd, I get this kind of stall where I dont have any turbo pressure anymore, the motor feels like its lost all its power and theres a small ruberish smell that shows up.

I was wondering if it could be cause by the BOV not beeing fast enough to drain out 1 bar (which would suprise me)

Currently I have a SSQV HKS BOV. I just dont understand if its me that asking too much out of my turbo or is it because theres some sort of backpressure coming back to the turbo...

what do you think could cause this?

If you have a PFC, what is the boost level set to, and what boost are you trying to run?

hows your clutch condition?

If the clutch was slipping, the sudden increase of revs would be very noticeably, and a give away. I would expect that this would be a definative hint of the problem, unless he is really lacking in experinece or gray matter.

Revs are very normal. Boost as been set-up by Steve Kan himself 2-3 weeks ago. The clutch is brand new ACT Extreme with the Streetlite ACT flywheel.

I kinda thought clutch too when I smelled the rubber.... I still dont have any idea of what this could be.

Yea I just didnt see it mentioned, I'm used to normal customers at the shop who dont notice revs spiking :)

I think chuck might got it right. On the PFC, if your boost is 0.2kg/cm2 above the boost setting, it will fuel cut the engine until you let off the gas and allow it to stabilize. Check to see where it peak hold on your boost. You might be getting boost spike in between shift causing it to cut off momentary.

So your saying that if I have higher boost level than Steve tuned it, there will be fuel cut?? The reason why i'm asking is that when Steve and I pulled on 3rd and 4th gear, the boost level was 1 bar. And for some reason, when I pull in first gear & second gear I got over 1 bar.

So you think that if I lower my boost to at least 1 bar on my manual boost controller, it would fix the fuel cut?
