Custom V-band vendor?

I am having one hell of a time trying to find a proper sized 3'' V-Band for my Turbonetics 62-1 set up. I have a turbonetics flange that measures 1/8'' wide on the DP and the weld in flange on my turbo is about 7/32'' wide.

I have ordered 2 clamps and both seem to be two narrow where the "V" comes to a point on the clamp. These clamps look to have about an 1/4'' gap then taper out about 40 degrees. Both are stainless steel ones from ebay, different manufact though.

What I need is a clamp that is 3/8'' at the narrow 'V" width.

My damn turbo weld in flange must be a aftermarket unit, not the original offered by Turbonetics because ALL damn v-band flanges must be 1/8'' width.

If anyone knows a good shop (besides ATP turbo...there clamps are the same) please let me know. Thanks.

One of the unfortunate problems with V-bands!

I had endless dramas with my vband setup, so when I bought my latest turbo I specified it had to be a 4-bolt application :dunno:

good luck!

NAPA sells vbands of about every size, go get 4 of them around your size range and return the ones that don't fit.

you could take the turbine housing and bring to machine shop, and use lathe to turn flange to a narrow size.
i had same prob with my 62-1 turbo, turbonetics about 5 yrs ago.

I thought that. If I cant find a good clamp this will be my next route.

I will try NAPA tomorrow.

If the napa thing doesnt work out try to give ATPturbo a call, they figured out what I needed after chasing one for 3 months...
