Compressor Sealing?

I was wondering if anyone has used RTV or similar to seal the compressor housing to their center section. Maybe even sealed the bolts that are exposed to the compressor outlet on their turbos. I noticed during assembly that the holes for the mounting bolts go through to the compressor outlet and it seems to me they could be a source of boost leak.

I think you'd be hard pressed to get a leak through a solid metal-metal joint, but I typically put a VERY thin coat of RTV just for a little insurance. Factory-built turbos I've taken apart have had a thin coat of something there, so I do the same.

Theres very little leakage, but if you feel the need to RTV theres no problems doing it, just keep in mind it'll make dissassembly slightly more difficult. You can lightly coat the mating surfaces with motor oil then RTV, this will seal and when its time to take things apart they wont be glued together by the rtv. BTW, this work with anything receiving the RTV treatment ;)
