act 6 puck

Personally I like the Exedy twin plate. Plenty of clamping force and it's very streetable. Bought from A-Spec, but don't remember the price right off hand. It's more than a single plate of course, but I feel it's worth the money.

Speedworks 05-12-07 08:31 AM

is it still driveable? daily that is and seeing regular trafic

allrotor93 05-12-07 09:00 AM

act extreme 6 puck. just as much torque as a twin plate and disks are only $110 :)

smg944 05-12-07 09:08 AM

i also have the exedy twin plate, it is very streetable. the engagement is great and the pedal is not too heavy. the act xtreme pressure plates can break clutch forks but, the act's are less then half the price...

I had the act 6-puck setup in my car running the heavy duty pressure plate, and it was horrible for street driving. Made noise, very hard to slip, it ended up ruining my flywheel. This was in a T2, I now run a exedy clutch from rx7.com and it is MUCH better and able to handle the hp....

The act 6 puck is a little harsh, I prefer the act street strip disc. I got mine from the rx7 store.

Just get the street/strip act xtreme duty clutch if you want a little extra holding power. Are you gonna run more boost? You may not even need the xtreme duty, and can go with the heavy duty, it's supposed to be a little more streetable. Chris told me to go with the xtreme cuz I think he can see the future.

Exedy twin disc and be done with clutch issues. I love mine. VERY streetable IMO

Speedworks 05-14-07 06:15 AM

Does the Exedy twin plate work with the OEM flyhweel?

dubulup 05-14-07 07:45 AM

^no, has it's own fly

Speedworks 05-14-07 12:21 PM

so it comes as a full kit? Clutch, flywheel, auto counterweight? So that's why it's so expensive

dhahlen 05-14-07 01:25 PM

No, it comes with clutch, flywheel, converter.

No CW is included.

You can get them for $1385 shipped from Japan.

Speedworks 05-14-07 03:10 PM

wel if the CW is not included that's just ridicilously expensive... Exedy or not

bigcox_03 05-15-07 01:04 AM

thanks for all the input guys. if i had the money i would go with the exedy twin plate, but i dont have that kind of cash to throw down right now. so after looking over all the info and talking to Chris at Banzai it seems that i will be going with the act street/strip with the xt pressure plate as Peter suggested. i found the whole kit for $471.00 online so i will be ordering and installing it soon!

joe-c 05-15-07 02:02 AM

yup you can put da money somewhere else

elnr 05-21-07 06:25 PM

isnt the sprung act six puck better than the one without the springs?
