There can be a difference in power when plumbing back in, one has to factor the engine ports, size of the turbo, size of the exhaust system, and how the WGs re enter.

Just in reference to the wastegate overheating thing again. Was just under the car now doing something else and wondering how the hell i was going to duct around moving steering arms and shit. I'm almost certain now my problem only happened on the dyno. now that i think about it, after the 1st dyno session early last year, the black anodised progate40 turned brown, stayed like that until the next dyno session where it went Gold and the diaphragm finally ruptured, and i put a new wastegate in.
Halfway through resuming the next dyno session i turn up at the shop and arranged to have a fan blowing air under the hot-side. Upon inspection, the black anodising on the offending WG is just starting to brown, but has stayed that way after a couple 100km's of driving. My Hypothesis - blow air on them at the dyno. Other than that they should be fine. And the anodising on the top hat seems to be a good indicator. |

I got my turbo back today from getting it some fancy coatings. 2000 degree ceramic coating on the hot side and powdercoated on the cold side. Attachment 574545 |
